Hello. I just purchased the 06 175 sport and I am putting a Lowrance Mark 4 dsi in. I was told that I could epoxy the transducer to the inside of the hull. I would love not to drill holes in the hull. Has anyone done this to this model and if so, where did you place the transducer. thanks.

I have the same boat, 2004 model. Did you ever figure out if a transducer can be mounted inside? If so, where?

One post in the last year for bbq... either he prefers to lurk or he was one and done. Too bad there was no feedback for him early on.

Not familiar with your boats but, typically if you can epoxy it down where the hull is at its thinnest and cavitation at its least, you can have success. Stay away from glassed up pads internally and ribs externally.

You'll have to double check me on this, but I believe your model uses a double hull liner. If the gelcoat in the bilge looks just like the gel on the topsides, then you do. In this case, finding a suitable spot can be very difficult and requires trial and error. Drill the hole and be done with it - done properly it will be just fine. It's really not that big of a deal to drill a hole. Besides, you can't just glue the transducer onto the hull - you have fill cavities to avoid air pockets. A thru-hull will also give the most consistent performance. If you're not comfortable doing this, it's usually about a 1-1/2 to 2-hour job at a shop.

Please change your signature - it currently shows a Stingray.

Mount it on the transom with the bracket that came with the transducer. You will have trouble getting downscan to work if you glue it in the bilge. We are talking a few tiny screws, not a giant hole. Mount it on the starboard side between the first and second strake.
