Twice, in the last couple months, I have blown the in-line 30 amp fuse that connects the original battery charger to the batteries. My battery levels are all good. Is this a sign the charger is on its way out or could it be another issue. I normally leave it on while docked with batteries on.

Make sure each battery cell ,if wet cell, is up to specs ( Hydrometer ). Excessive resistance will melt and/or blow a fuse even if the thruster is not in use, but the charger is operating. Hope this helps, Tim

Tim Thanks. I will check the actual condition of the batteries.fwiw, I have no bow thruster. The fuse would just blow while the boat was docked and hooked to shore power.

What brand charger is used, I would email them. I had to replace my charger because of this very reason. I was able to get an exchanged refub for $160 I recall (Brand was Dynamic something, can't remember). I then switched to all AGM batteries I got from SAMS for about $140 each, have never had a issue since.
