Anyone have experience with the Kenyon 2 burner electric cooktops? Mine has stopped working. Worked fine the previous weekend and then my wife reported "no lights" on the unit. I check to see if either burner was heating up and they were not. It is totally non functional.
Checked the power switch assigned to that unit in my panel with a meter and it seems to be OK. Not aware of any other fuse. There is a safety switch which keeps the unit from being turned on when the cover insert is in place. I can feel and hear the switch functioning but cannot get at it to check for electrical operation. This cooktop looks like it is a real bear to remove so I am not anxious to tackle removal if I do not absolutely have to.

Spoke to the folks at Kenyon and they feel it is highly unlikely that the unit would have totally failed for both burners.

Only other clue is that the week before I had been working on my DC electrical panel ( the one with the battery switches) on my 2001 SD 310. However, everything else onboard runs just fine and Kenyon says that the unit should still function even if I knocked a ground wire off somewhere. Also checked both of my ground faults but they are fine too. I am stumped. any help would be appreciated.

This would most likely be a 120vt unit so the 12vt dc wouldn't be a factor.

Check to see if the plug has come out from underneath the unit. Any I've seen have a plunger switch on the top center that gets pushed down by the lid closing. Try working it up and down a few times - it could be stuck down.

There is a little button (safety switch) on the edge of the counter top. The cook top cover depresses it... It sticks down sometimes and the cook top won't go on... Look for it, clean it, and push it in and out, and your cook top will magically work again...
