I have had a problem with my boat since bought in that it only comes off the full peg when about 15 to 20 gallons of fuel have been used. I have never let it get past registering 1/2 tank, but it seems to be working - just not accurate.

Has anyone had this problem? If so, what was the cure? I am hoping to just recalibrate the system, but it is more likely that I will have to replace either the sending unit, or the gauge.

Thanks in advance for any information you can provide

Doug

www.centroidproducts.com is the only sending unit that I've found will be custom-calibrated to your specific tank. A bit pricey, but worth it if you're up for $150-200 for a sending unit, and your gauge itself is good.

Do a search for fuel gauges on here; there's more information available than you'd think, including how to see if your gauge or sending unit is faulty.

Good luck!

I took your advice and did search for fuel gauge posts. Seems like consensus is to live with it and calibrate myself rather than the fuel gauge. At this point I will try the troubleshooting tips found in the other posts.

Thanks for the quick reply!

Doug
