Hello all! I am seriously considering the purchase of a '93 Sea Ray 400 EC. Does anyone know if the hull on these was cored or not? Additionally, I did notice some sewage smell in the cabin..any common issures here?

Thank You

The 400EC is a solid hull boat.

Everyone gets hot and bothered about cored hulls and try to avoid them, however, don't overlook the fact that almost every boat in the Sea Ray (and other manufacturers as well) line up have cored decks and transoms. Get your surveyor to check moisture levels around any opening cut or drilled into the deck for mounting things like stanchions, windlass, lights, rails, etc.

The waste odor is curable and just means that the previous owner does not know how to manage or care for the waste system on the boat.

Some forums on this topic that may be of help. Check area around the front headliner and area around side windows, prone to some leaks depending on owner attention. Loved our 400. Have fun shopping.
