1992 50' Sundancer

Hi all......looking to move up this year, been looking at a 1992 50 foot sundancer, 300 hrs on a total rebuild.....
Survey will do done, but before I commit to one, any specific questions that I should be asking that would be specific to that model ?

I will just say congrats. Those era 50' Dancers are one of the coolest boats Sea Ray ever made.

We love ours, does it have Detroits, and are they 6V92 or 8V92. We have 8V's, the boat pulls out of the hole like a tank. But the 6V's are alot better on fuel. Good luck with the hunt.

Definately one of SR's original monsters. Always liked that boat. HUGE salon and the bunk beds were always cool. Seems like theres 8' of headroom in there.
The prices for these things are a steal so long as a survey checks out.

You may want to read Pascoe review (some love him, some loathe him… but it can be quite informative granted you realize there is no perfect boat for that guy) :grin:

She has the 6V's.....which should work well for us.......
Pietro, I did read Pascoe's review, thank you for posting the link.....very informative.....
I did obtain the survey on the boat that I'm interested in....it's 2 years old, but all discrepancies have been corrected.....I will invest in a new survey....
Hopefully, I'll have my new lady by July.....will have to bring her down from Lake Erie......which in itself will be a pleasure....

2 years is plenty of time for something new to pop up. Get a new survey. Don't fall in love with something until you own it. Up to that point treat it like a business/investment and do your due diligence.
