It was a big job for me as first I oiled all the new teak wood and the teak that I sanded then I installed it all and then after about a month it looked like it was on my boat for 10yrs. So I took it all off (again) used a teak cleaner and cleaned all the oil off of every piece of teak. I then used the Cetol you put 3 coats of the satin then for the sealer you put 2 coats minimum. I put 4 coats on some teak for extra protection. If you like the wet look that is what you will get, as you will get a high gloss and shows the grain off real nice. As soon as I pull mine out of the shed I will send you some pics. Do you have the teak that goes across the stern about 6" wide about 7' long I put 5 coats on it and people don't want to sit on it as they think it's still wet ha ha. I notice you have an anchor pulpit can you send me some pics of it would like to get some ideas and what kind of winch you have, as I am looking into the Lewmar winch. I have the 230 cuddy cabin.
Thanks so much for the info Old Blue!! I will do mine this off season. I take it you can buy all materials from Home depot. I do have an anchor pulpit, however the winch is my arms!! I will be getting the boat in about a week and a half for our next outing, I will send you a pic then, and I would like to see your teak pics. Yes I do have the teak pieces along the stern... I hope to have the same reaction very soon! LOL! Thanks again for the detailed info! Looking forward to your restore pics!
