Hi, Im looking for a new prop for my 25 Sea Ray. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Does anyone have an Idea of the weight of this boat ? Thanks Tim

Hi Lakeway, maybe my boat is listed as a 24 foot....The pink slip say 24.6 ft ? I ordered a solas 4 blade prop 14.75x15. Im looking for some Mid Range fuel economy...I still would like to know how much the 24 SRV Weekender 1981 might weigh ? thanks for you reply Tim

Not sure about economy, but my '81 245 had a 16x16 pop on it when I bought it. Get's her outta the water pretty quick and moves her around really well in the chop and current of the river. I sure I'm losing little on the high end, but that boat ain't made for speed anyway. I'm pretty sure my boat calls for a 14.75x15 "factory" prop, and I have that one, but not sure how it would perform.

My 1989 260 alpha 1 230 CC had the factory recommended 14.25 X 17 on it when we bought the boat second hand. She was slow to plane, fell off plane at 21 MPH took lots of throttle and only had a top speed of 39 MPH on GPS at rated RPM. I purchased a Michigan Wheel 4 blade aluminum 15 x 16. and it is a new boat, jumps on plane even with full fuel tank and 6 adults, stays on plane down to 16 mph and has a top GPS speed of 42 mph at rated rpm. And it seems I use less fuel. Oh yeah I cruise at 2800 rpm's on the primaries, no secondaries at about 29 mph.

Nothing in the 1981 catalog exactly matches what you are describing. Take a look at the brochure archives at searay.com. Models --> Past Models --> 1981

Thanks Everyone for your feed back. Im hoping for some good results with my new 14.75x15 solas 4 blade prop. I will be running to Catalina Island this weekend for some Lobster fishing. I will be able to tell pretty quickly on the results ..Thanks Tim

The 4 blades are suppose to give stern lift and mid range performance.
A cupped 3 blade is also suppose to help mid range performance.

Tail chaser, thanks for your reply. I still havent ran my boat with the NEW 4 blade solas....Power steering pump is leaking now...It never ends repairing these classic boats...LOL
