I have this new guy next to me in a Hunter sailboat. I'm sitting in my boat sunday with the engines running getting ready to leave as he's explaining to his son-in-law how he's going to pull out of the slip.
"Ok, i'm going to pull out and you're going to wrap this line around that cleat and the boat is going to swing around and then you'll jump on". then he looks around and notices that if he does that, my anchor is going to meet his boat. "oh wait, this stupid guy's anchor is in the way". I'm sitting in my seat and we are untieing lines to leave, I'm 3' away from him. I said, "well we are about to leave, so if it makes it easier, just wait a few seconds and we'll be out of your way". "BY" that's what he says. I don't know who this guy is. For all he knows i'm a psyco willing to hack his arm off as he gives his sarcastic wave to me. So I shut my engines off and sit and watch. Needless to say, he realized that i'm not going anywhere. Doesn't he know my anchor has 2 kill flags on it already?
So they begin their departure and it was a pretty good show. In order to miss my anchor, the son-in-law had to push the boat with all his might away from the finger, which ment he couldn't get back on. The guy couldn't get the boat back in so he takes off and tells him to meet him at the end of the dock to pick him up. He runs over and grabs the rail of the boat but doesn't quite make it and his feet are now dragging in the water. they pull him in and off they go. I pass him in the bay and wave "BY" as I get up on plane.
Now this is what really irks me, I retrieved this guys fender in the water for him last weekend. they were pulling into the marina and his wife dropped the fender and you could hear him yelling at her. So I jump in my dinghy and go and get the fender. Doesn't even say thank you.
I've got my camera ready for next weekend.
