Guys - Going back to the Cleveland boat show tomorrow night and will be looking hard between the Four Winns Vista V358 and 340 Dancer and I'm trying to get to what the boat really should sell for bottom line. Anyone who has bought one or has good knowledge of what the real street price would be would be appreciated.

Thanks

Brad - Saw the 358 at Cedar point - very nice - I thought that 2007 m/y show price was about $ 200k - it had my attention too! This was too much jump for me at that time. IMHO I believe list less 20% is the standard "serious" quote. Then push down from there. Once you push pricing as far as you think - go for extra warranty..... I'm sure you have all that in mind. Only other thing is with this market, $ 100/barrell oil deals may get even better. What about new 06's or 07's still around? I bought my '06 320DA new, never titiled, very well equipped for $154k - took some shopping - but found it. If you want specifics on my deal send me a PM. Good luck I'll be watching this thread to see others ideas too! Ray

Brad

Here are the listings for 2006/2007 340DA's on Boat Trader http://search.boattraderonline.com/search-results/Make-Sea%20Ray/Zip-29708/Radius-any/Year-2006,2007/Keywords-Sundancer/Length-34,34/Sort-Price:DESC/Page-1,25/Searchid-55413/

Prices seem to average right around $200K for used models so you can also use that price as some indicator of what might be a "fair" price for a 2008 model or what type of depreciation you might experience on a new one.

Keep us posted, even if you pick a Four Winns.

Great choice either way...Both boats showed really well

...thinking of chiming in...thinking of chiming in... :D

I'll bet you are :). I think I read your initial post on the ifourwinns site. Congrats on your new boat. I'd love if you'd contrast the two, pros and cons both ways and if you'd be willing, tell me what you paid for yours or what I should pay. Thanks

Brad - it's a comparison that many have done, and as a few of us have run down the pros and cons list between these two boats elsewhere on this forum, I'll spare everyone another recap and send you a PM with some specifics. The 340DA is obviously a terrific vessel and one of Sea Ray's most popular and enduring for a good reason. It's also being phased out for a reason which is no ill-reflection on what a fine boat it is. Hopefully, someone who has recent experience with an '08 340 purchase can give you some real-world numbers.

The thing that bothers me about the four winns is that i don't know why you can not order the boat with 8.1 engines. The largest i/o configuration is 320 hp mercs or volvos the same as the smaller 338 vista. With 200 gallons of fuel, water, a couple of people and gear i can't see that boat moving too well. I love the layout of the cockpit since it has a jump seat to port rather then a fixed chair and it also has a walk thru windshield. In the cabin the seperate show caught my attention more then anything else.

SR dealer at the AUS BS said he had one at the dealership...that will be their last one...he expects to receive his 1st 350 late this spring.

Brad,

I'm in the same boat (pun intended) you are. Don't know what a good price is for the 2008 340. Does 20~22% off MSRP seem reasonable? MM doesn't think so and are saying the new digital engine controls make the 2008 340 so much more valuable...I don't think it's that much of a big deal. And with the upcomming 350 they should bend even more IMO. Anyone that been or going to a boat show or someone that has a 2008 340 please help Brad and me out on % off MSRP or actual purchase prices. We really need a good baseline on the 2008 340. I'm also looking at the Regal eqv 3760 any feedback on this boat, any pricing info?

Thanks for the help,

Soon to be a bigger boat owner!

Mike

22% off is not enough. Compare what you can get an 05 or 06 340 for, and justify the 100's of $1,000's (at least one).

We check out every boat in the 340 range including the Regal 3760. We loved the Regal layout until we got to the front berth. It is tiny, barely enough room for one person. We crossed it of the list before any serious checking.

jrcinnh, So...what did you end up getting? The Four winns 348? Need to fess up and put it in your signature. Congratulations, Brian

Have you made a serious offer yet? Theres no way to tell what a good price is until you make a firm offer with a deposit check. FWIW, I built and priced a 340 that I would like if I were to order one, came out to 373K almost :wow: I would start at a 30% off offer myself which would be about 261K. The 20% your hearing is only 298K, not enough IMO. By the time youve added a few things like elecs, lines and a few others youd like, your way over 300K. Seems like way too much for a boat that will be worth about 150 in 2-3 short years. Before I bought my used 260, I looked at plenty of new 280's. I priced them from 4 different dealers and this one was by far the cheapest from the get-go without even trying to negotiate. www.hutchinsonsboatworks.com Even though they are 1500 miles from you, it can't hurt to compare their prices. Over the years, they have consistently had better prices by far from other dealers I've been to. Somewhere in my office I still have a sales flyer from them from 03 or 04 for a twin deisel 290 AJ that was nicely equipped at 129K, new. I wanted it something bad but the money wasn't right at the time :smt089 If your serious about buying, try an offer, I'm sure you will get better than 20-22% if your serious about it. SB

Yes, the Four Winns, they call it a 358 now but it's the same boat as the 348. I'll update the signature. It just doesn't feel like my boat yet because I can't take it out.

dcwjd, Regal does call the berth on the 3760 a queen but it's much smaller than the SR 340 or even the new 330. It seemed smaller than our 300 DA.

Late spring of boat not in production ??? Dont yea think it would have been at a boat show if there was a replacement ??

Rob

I think the 350 will show up at the end of our summer here in NY like the 330 did last year which is September. It will be shown at the first boat shows in the fall in the Northeast which is the Norwalk in water boat show. Early spring is much too soon. It will be an 09 model year.
