Let out all the line on my wimdless while on the hook. Something tripped and low all I have is the selenoid clicking in the engineroom on the port bulkhead. Checked all fuses n breakers everything looks fine. What am I missing? Thanks for any advise

I have a 01 280SD with twin 4.3 alpha 1 drives, while lifting up the port outdrive the exhaust boot poped off the outdrive. After about 1hr. of trying to lower the drive and reconnect the boot no luck! The rubber is to stiff and cold? I called the dealer and they said the boot doesn't need to...
