Noticed my outdrives have really gotten eat'en up last summer. I replaced all of my Zinc's last winter and they are all but eat'en away. I also sanded and primed the outdrives last winter.....well I gotta do it again and soon.

What is the best epoxy to use to fill-in the pitting ?

Thanks,
Erik

I would suggest finding out why the corrosion exists in the first place. That way no additional depletion of your drive will occur. I would suggest posting your drive and engine package as well. Others will comment on how to fix.

Sounds like you need to replace your zincs more frequently. A haul out every 3Mos to replace zinc is cheaper than a new O/D. I wouldn't want any corrosion on my drives, so if that's what it takes + analyzing how "hot" the marina is would be a great first step. Then consider having the drives professionally repaired so when you sell the boat, the next owner requests new drives because your's are rotten or not properly repaired.

Good luck and welcome.

I used Marine-Tex (sp?) on a repair job I did on a very old alpha. I spread it using a rubber squeege. I worked nicely. I actually repaired a missing chunk (quarter size) of the cavitation plate and it held up for years.

I agree with the others here about finding the cause too....
