Looking at an 88 SeaRay. Owner says it has a 135 SeaRay outboard on it......thinks it's was made by Merc??? The picture sent is a bit fuzzy, but sure enough it says SeaRay on the side of the cowling, but doesn't look like any outboard I've seen before.....maybe just the mostly white paint job...
The only difference is that it looks like your in Ohio and I'm in Washington State. Your raw water is probably fresh vs salt water for me. I'm sure that even fresh/lake water can stink up after awhile, but I KNOW that this is a common complaint from salt water.
I'm guessing your talking about your DA??? In my DB the only thing behind the bathroom is the engine compartment. I do have a seat just in front of the bathroom that I could possible fit a tank under though....hmmmm.
And here I thought I had this whole part of the planning all figured out. Now you guys have got me rethinkin it.
So let's explore the "fresh water" option- I know about the stinky part, but was under the impression that one could dump a little clorox in the bowl if it was parked for any...
Here's the sitch. Boat came with a porta-potty that the Admiral was never really excited about....ok, she hates it. Cap'n B finds a used toilet, hoses, y-valve, macerator pump and 20G holding tank on craigslist and the Admiral is pleased with the direction things are heading!....get it...
Got in late last night. Timed it so we went through the Siskyous in the middle of the day and we sailed right thru. Other than that it rained like crazy all the way up the coast, we cruised right along back to home. Thanks for the help.

Thanks guys for all the input. I had been leaning towards sticking with the ho-hum I-5 route, but thought that if I got some pretty possitive feedback about the Vegas route I'd take it to see another part of the country. After reading all the posts it just confirmed that I better stick to the...
Thanks for the insight. Ran into a buddy after work and he was saying that the route in northern AZ/ southern UT can get a bit dicey....anyone know about this neck of the woods?
This Friday and Sat I'm going to be helping my son move back home and will be making the run from Phoenix, AZ up to Seattle, WA.
Could really use some advice about routes at this time of year??? I'm familiar with the route straight west to LA and then up 5...only one major problem spot in...
As far as pics go, I don't have any pics of the Pre-Busted trailer with the boat. I could take some pics of the broken crossmembers and some of the work I'm doing right now to repair.
Doug- I wonder why they recommend not placing the bunk under the stringer??? You're right, I'll get ahold of...
Could really use some help from anyone familiar with boat trailers.:smt100
I'm redoing the cross members on the trailer and have a chance to change the locations of the bunks if I want to....the question is, should I??? I'd like to eliminate the two smaller ones if possible.
Here's the...
I just did this very thing on my 26' with a 454. I had the Thunderbolt 4 system on mine and was having trouble with the Thunderbolt ignition module and the replacement for just that part alone was going to be over $400 and I still had an old coil and dist. After adding up the cost with replacing...
Hey all
Thought some of you may be interested in looking at some pics of the new swimstep that my wife and I built.

The old one was fiberglass, full of holes and was only 19" deep. We wanted on about 30", so it was time...
Local marina guys where telling me about a guy who mounted some equipment in his boat. Couldn't figure out why his boat wouldn't come off the trailer at the ramp??? Figured out he'd drilled thru the bottom of the boat into the trailer bunks! Trailer straps optional I guess.

That's a question that could go in all kinds of directions and you probably aren't getting too many responces b/c it's vague. Here's a few pro's/con's that you can consider.
3-Blade Pro's
-Most of these are aluminum which keeps the cost down. You can get them in Stainless which is...
Wondering if there's a Tacoma, WA member that could help me out???
I've found a wiper motor for my boat and it's a match to what I've got to replace. It's for sale in Tacoma, I'm 2 hrs north in Sedro Woolley and the seller will not ship.
I'm supposed to be heading down that way in a week or...
