Can't Winterize in California -bought 6 gallons of Vodka-never winterized before

I can’t help with winterization, but I’ll meet you in Punta Gorda with a hundred olives and some martini glasses! Who’s in?

2012 SR 450 DA - Red/Green head flush control light

Yes, you are right. There is a pressure leak somewhere aft of the bowl. Hire a professional to troubleshoot and fix it.

470/43 DA Owners - Anyone out there?

Congrats. I also have a 2011 that I purchased late in 2013. This has been the longest I've ever owned a boat and I've put > 1,000 hours on her which should give you a good indication as to my satisfaction. My biggest piece of advice is to not trust anyone with your pods but Cummins. You'd...

    Launched PWC-Water temp 56 F

I was wearing a full wetsuit today. I wouldn’t chance falling in water that cold without one.

    Sundancer 48 cockpit windows

FWIW, I have side vents in my 470DA and I never use them. It's probably not worth a complicated and expensive modification. Congrats on the boat! I wish I could modify my helm seats to swivel the way yours do! Drives me crazy they didn't do that on the 470s.

    Tranny dipstick failure!

Of course I had to take her out for a little ride.

    Tranny dipstick failure!

I didn’t crank it that hard. I think it was probably cracked already or some thing. These things are only supposed to be snug not super tight. I replaced the one on the other side too just out of an abundance of caution.

    Tranny dipstick failure!

Actually @Blueone you were the first one to chime in with the heated screwdriver idea or the cutting a groove for a flat head screwdriver. So I think you got it!

Thanks, me too. No happened back home near Cherry Hill. I passed out after climbing one flight of stairs at work. It’s all on surveillance camera! Due to Covid I was the only one in the office too. I was out for two minutes and when I woke up I thought I was home in bed sleeping. Went to Penn ER...

    Tranny dipstick failure!

It’s out! I went with a fine dremel bit made for engraving. My diesel mechanic also suggested a heated screwdriver but liked dremel idea better once I told him I had one. I replaced both sticks with new and kept the one used stick as a spare.

Ah jeez, sorry to hear, that’s terrible. 2020 was not good for me either. I bought my PWC brand new in January of 2020 and due to COVID production shutdowns didn’t get to take delivery until 6/25. Then two weeks after that I nearly dropped dead from massive pulmonary embolisms in both lungs, and...

Hysterical!! Listen, I’m truly impressed about your younger days on that stand up rocket in frigid temps!! If you did that then, you earned the right to be a “wuss” which you are not, of course!!! I have never fallen off my sit down PWC, but I’m like a Boy Scout I always aim to be prepared for...

    Launched PWC-Water temp 56 F

I boat out of Southern NJ, and as you can see I'm the only nut job at my marina who launched his PWC on Tuesday 4/6. Since then, I've burned no less than 3 tanks of gas zipping around in my: 3MM wetsuit plus full rain gear over top. My lifejacket is in between those two layers. And of course I'm...

    Tranny dipstick failure!

All good suggestions, thanks everyone. I think I'll try cutting a groove with a dremel bit to get a grip on it with a flathead screwdriver. I also thought I could try to pry the o-ring out and then maybe get a grip on the edges with needlenose pliers, but I want to stay away from the threads on...

    Tranny dipstick failure!

Yep no mallets or hammers. One wrong move on the housing and it’s a $10,000 mistake.

    Tranny dipstick failure!

I checked the oil 10 seconds before the cap ripped off and I always drag the wet stick on the side on the way out so I’m sure the threads are lubed already. So disgusted that this happened at the end of an otherwise great weekend. Better than a mechanical failure of course, but seriously...WTF??!!

    Tranny dipstick failure!

Heat from dremel spin may end up melting the plastic and get too goopy. I will first test the hot screwdriver on the head, I could probably drill two holes a centimeter apart and stick tips of needle nose pliers and unscrew.
