Soft Top with Aluminum Tubing Frame

Dave - I see your point. Our V358 will come with a forwand and back bimini with a full height camper for the back. Its a very nice and practical set up. I was just intrigued by the soft top on the 340 but I"m sure its less practical/functional. The soft top on the 340 through Sea Ray is...

Soft Top with Aluminum Tubing Frame

Yes I did. I PM'd you back. I'm guessing the one Skipper Buds is showing is ours. I'll be happy to give you more information.

Soft Top with Aluminum Tubing Frame

V358 - Yes, I did. It comes with the standard bimini style top but I prefer the soft top on the 340DA. Just curious to see if adding it aftermarket is an option.

Soft Top with Aluminum Tubing Frame

Guys - I saw a 340DA at the boat show with the soft bimini top and the rigid aluminum tubing frame. I thought it looked pretty good. Does anyone know where I can see a picture of that set up? Anyone ever seen something like this done aftermarket?

    '08 340 Dancer Pricing

Guys - just wanted to update on my decision. We ended up buying the Four Winns 358V. With all due respect to any 340 owners or general Sea Ray loyalists (of which I was one), the 358V was a no-brainer. We ordered the boat for April delivery with Volvo 320HP V-drives, DTS throttle controls...

    '08 340 Dancer Pricing

I'll bet you are :). I think I read your initial post on the ifourwinns site. Congrats on your new boat. I'd love if you'd contrast the two, pros and cons both ways and if you'd be willing, tell me what you paid for yours or what I should pay. Thanks

    '08 340 Dancer Pricing

Guys - Going back to the Cleveland boat show tomorrow night and will be looking hard between the Four Winns Vista V358 and 340 Dancer and I'm trying to get to what the boat really should sell for bottom line. Anyone who has bought one or has good knowledge of what the real street price would be...

    Sterndrive for Big Express Cruisers?

You certainly didn't offend me and I hope I didn't offend you. I don't own a Rinker - I own a sterndrive 280DA. I'm just intrigued that Rinker is offering the sterndrive in the big express and my challenge was just intended to get to some of the logic you explained in this second message...

    Sterndrive for Big Express Cruisers?

Frank - You are one of the more knowledgable members on the board and ordinarily I'd take your comments at face value - but I have to ask you to explain how I/Os "make no sense". The fuel test data I saw was for gas and the Rinker 390 with gas I/Os got a little over 1 mpg at 35mph. The...

    Sterndrive for Big Express Cruisers?

Guys - Looking to upgrade from my current 280DA to a 38 or so express cruiser. The 2005 390 is actually my number one choice but I've come across the Rinker 390 Express recently. There is one for sale with Volvo Diesel I/Os. A - I didn't know boats this big came in a sterndrive option and B...

    380 DA Diesel

Well - I can add my name to the list of potential buyers of a 380DA with diesels. There could be a bidding war out there. We live on Lake Erie and indeed, there are no diesel boats in this size to be had. Marine Max will talk you out of it, saying that with a 50 hour boating season, the...

    380 Sundancer

Guys - I'm in the market for a 38 Sundancer and was doing some reasearch. I've read through the history here and have found a fair amount of good stuff. I"m sure this has been discussed before but I wasn't able to see where. My question is why has the 38 Sundancer been shrinking? The...

    What's in a Sport Yacht

Guys - looking at upgrading to a 380DA and I've read that there are certain upgrades in inherent in the construction of Sea Ray sport yachts versus the sport cruisers and smaller boats. In other words, there's a difference in the quality of construction and materials between say a 340DA and a...

    Engine Temperature Issue

Guys - Starboard engine is acting funny. After starting both engines and idling down the river to the lake (so 10 minutes or so), my port engine will be up to 170F but my SB engine will still be reading 110F or so. Once out on the lake and running for a while it will finally come up to about...

    2005 sea ray 280?

I just bought an '03 280 Sundancer with T 5.0 BIII combo with 5kw genset. 240 hours and VERY clean. Freshwater only and included Garmin chartplotter. Paid $76,500 for it. I think I got a good deal, not great deal. I would say the boat you're looking at would go for about $82-$84K. IMHO.

    Lake Norman Info

Wow - Dave, I'm about ready to jump in the car. In addition to loving boating and watersports, I'm a golfer too. Right about this time every year I slip into a seasonally-induced depression that lasts until about April. :) I appreciate the information. I looked at some maps and saw that the...

    Lake Norman Info

Guys - We're thinking of relocating to Charlotte area and I have a few questions about Lake Norman. I've been to the Lake Norman sites but still have a couple of questions. I'd appreciate whatever info I can get. 1. Is Lake Norman landlocked? Can you get to the Atlantic from it? Can you...

    Looking at a 2001 280 Sundancer

Two major drawbacks to the single engine ... power and manoueverability. I have 2003 280 with 5.0 BIII for a total of 520HP. It gets up and goes nicely. I wouldn't want much less power. I also have a lot of ability to handle the boat around the slip. Trying to work the 280 into a tight slip...
