If yours are still in decent shape, meaning not chipped or broken off, they will actually clean up pretty easily. Hit them with some 303 vinyl/fiberglass cleaner and they should pop back to life.
Way cheaper than buying replacements.
Now these numbers sound closer to normal, and all things considered, I think you're right about where you should be, performance wise. Overall, you'll need to find the sweetest configuration of drive trim and trim tab application based on running weight and conditions, but based on your test...
It would be a two person job, unless you could somehow secure the running hose to your AC/seawater outlet on the side of the boat, and then close the seacock while it's running.
Otherwise, one person to secure the running hose flushing water back through the whole system with the seacock open...
Or, you could buy a Sea Flush system, which you can use for this and other useful DIY projects: http://www.seaflush.com/
In the event you lose prime after being stacked, and don't feel like taking a run to re-prime the pump, just launch/splash the boat and take a hose connected to shore water...
ET: I'm right next door to you at Hope Springs, and have seen you out on the creek/river. I agree with Zorba, something doesn't sound right, either with your description of what's happening or how you're actually running. I'm in an '07 340 setup identical to Zorba, although I don't think...
....
Actually just recently did this drill which solved what I thought was a problem (until I read the WH manual)......My bigger issue was the apparent leak I believe I heard when purging the tank. Hopefully I didn't cause anything new, but there was water spraying up into the port gunwale...
Previously had a 240 Sundeck with the 350 Mag/B# setup, and never had a time when the boat felt at all underpowered....that combo is what you want in that size boat. We routinely ran with 9 or 10 folks on board with all the day's gear too, and the boat ran as if it was bored/no problems at...
If you have the standard bulkhead mounted TV, I posted a step by step process on how to remove and replace a TV at that location in Post #399 of this thread: http://clubsearay.com/showthread.php/59501-Official-2003-5-2008-340-Sundancer-Thread?p=824187&highlight=#post824187
I think most dealers keep the transducers in stock....Just make sure you get the right one. Yours sounds just like the one I had to replace which was the combo depth/water temp unit.
Side Note: When you replace the transducer, be sure to install the new one in the correct orientation, meaning you should line up the arrow on the head of the unit properly to account for the deadrise offset of your hull/transom (assuming you're going with a thru hull install). If you're...
Tim,
Once you start getting those readings regularly on the Smartcraft, it's a sign that the transducer is going. Oftentimes, you'll get the erratic depth readings, including the "--" while simultaneously getting mostly accurate water temp readings, or vice versa. I noticed mine going when I...
Can't really speak to the '99, but my '07 has a pretty much flat bulkhead that originally housed the factory 26 inch TV, and had plenty of additional room to accept the 32 inch I replaced it with. I did have to do a little surgery to extend the dimensions of the original shroud cutout, but...
+1 and questioning this concept as well. I surely get HW while connected to shore water only, with no water in or pumped from my water holding tank. Is it possible the OP did not open the source water line in to the HWH from the cold water manifold? Seems like that would result in his...
LOL....told you all about those dern staples. They went a little crazy with the staple gun at the factory, or someone thought they'd have some fun with us during the install process. My freakin' hands were sore after removing those things.
Looks good Scott. I think we have the same TV, but yours seems to sit just outside the shroud, or am I seeing things? If so, how'd you get it do sit outside the shroud?
Mine mounted tight to the wall and on the inside of the shroud. You're right about having to move the whole mount to the...
