Thanks Hans was that a rebuilt for 2500? I have been quoted at least 6k for brand new but 2300 for rebuilt with warranty form Merc. MasterFab thanks but the insurance company and B&E are taking care of it.
Went back to yard yesterday to watch them take the boat out of the water. The props definetly look like they ran into sand, the surveryor will do his inspection this week.
Thanks for all of the information, the quote so far is about 4k for a rebuilt from Merc, total cost with all of the labor and shaft and prop work is over 8k.
Called the yard and they have included the following in the estimate so far; replace the tranny with a new rebuilt ZF from Merc with warranty (new new is double the price almost 7k), shaft turned and balanced, props removed scanned and balanced, and all the associated labor. Over 8k so far, WOW...
My3 Sons, yes I did find at least the top of the bolt in the bilge, thanks for the suggestions on the shaft and the engine block bolts. What still does not make sense to me is that I would think if I ran aground, which I have done in other boats, I would have noticed something of a slowdown or...
Bottom Line I have heard that sound when I first turn the unit on in the spring and off in the fall, but not on a continuos basis. I Belive it is the freon circulating.
The tranny will definetly need to be rebuilt at minum. I went to the yard yesterday and took some pics and showed it to the service manager, he thinks we must of hit something in the Michigan city inlet, they have had lots of sand build up with these high winds. They hope to get it out of the...
My levels were lower then that, I think as low as 1/4. Thanks again for the info the boat is at the dealer for winterization so they will let me know this week what the damage will be.
I will keep you posted, I have a call into the yard this morning. Happy Hour also said the same thing about a bearing proplem, he said it happened to him and as you said failed bearing = failed seal = tranny fluid in teh bilge. I hope that i what it is and that I did not damage the tranny, we...
Thanks Happy Hour that sounds like what happened to me as well. How long did you run before you saw the fluid in the bilge? Did you do the work? if not about how much did it run for the repair?
Hello I am a 360 2005 SD owner, my port tranny has lost all of its flued into the bilge. I could see medal shavings on the floor right below the tranny and it looks like the shaft may have rupped against the tranny casing and ground it down to a point that it leaked out all of the fluid. The...
Hello again 360 owners, it is that time again the boats are going away for the winter, at least in the midwest. We brought the boat across the lake this morning and considering that yesterday we had 10 to 14 footers in the middle of the lake, today was like glass. It rained but oh well. Now my...
Success I replaced the water hose yesterday. The old hose did have a one inch crack in it, the only reason for the crack is either from dry rot or freezing. It was not a bad job thanks to see ray providing access holes to all areas of the hose. There are three access holes in the starboard...
Our sea ray is an 05, I tried it both ways, first I turned shore water on and tried all outlets all worked without making pump go on except galley sink. I then turned pump off and all outlets worked except the galley sink which only had a minimum flow. I may just have a slight blockage on the...
Hello again, question: I never use shore water through the intake in the transom, I always fill my tank and use water from there. This weekend I connected a hose to the shore connector and discovered that all water sources used the shore water except the galley sink? I have checked the manual...
Thanks My3sons, I will look into that. My leak is between the top deck and the intake on the tank, it looks like it is at the bend of the hose. I think it is far enough aft that it could not get in the location you describe (and I would love to know how you figured that location out). I called...
