Broken exhaust flapper found free floating in bell housing.

slide down exhaust elbow rubber boots over the y pipe and rotate it out of the way. crc 656 lubricant sprayed under the boot helps get them off. They are just at the top of the y pipe, and use 2 rubber nubs to hold them in place the y pipe has notches to fit these "so called nubs".

    Mercathode

The controller is mounted behind the gear lube monitor on most newer boats, and has 4 wires going to it. The other part is outside of the boat on the gimbal housing your going to have to lay on your back and get all the way under it. 2 bolts hold it in if you see the 2 bolts and the controller...

    Oil Pressure

I had a problem like this before not trying to freak you out, but I had an engine one time that had erratic oil pressure at times then be totally fine. Im a Mercruiser Tech so I called Mercury and they said change out the sensor (because those things always go bad even on brand new boats 2011's)...

Detailed Video on How to Remove & inspect a Bravo drive

Thanks John I was worried I came off harsh, but that's how I would do it. It takes me about an hour to take a drive off,get all the special mercruiser tools you need out of the tool room, inspect it, and reinstall it. If I had to record it on video and explain what I'm doing it would take 3 hours

    Bellows?

From a mechanic point of view on flat rate I love those bellows so easy to install and they work great don't worry about you will be fine. All the new boats have this style now and every mechanic asks for them because they are so reliable and easy to install.

I work for a sea dealer as a tech you dont have to pull the engine or manifold. It's a pain in the butt though as spoken before I am skinny strong and tall my arms can reach forever in the bilge of a boat I would bill 1/2 hr diagnosis and 2 hr to remove and replace

    Article on inboard engine alignment

I'm sorry Presentation you are right I only work at a Sea Ray dealership and have only 10 years of mechanic knowledge to go with it. A aligned shaft on a boat=a happy boat, yes there are other factors that have to deal with it to make it straight, but alignment is key. And yes I did read the...

    Gimball Bearing
