Adding a thread to the GFI- no xmas lights... Specifically, trying to find the "Forward Head GFI" outlet on a 2008 44'. The manual says one is there, but does not point to its location and I cannot find it. If you have a 2008 44' SD and you have found it, please educate this numbskull so I can...
Help... need the location of GFI plugs on a 2008 44 Sundancer. I plugged in ONE TOO MANY light strings and cannot find the GFI for the port forward 120AC outlets.
I have looked at the schematics and it indicates GFI plugs at:

Went to start the generator yesterday; no power when you push the rocker switch. Checked the battery; 13.2v, checked the rotating cutoff switch, 13.2v, but no power to the on-engine start switches and no power to the remote switch on the cabin panel. The schematic shows a c/b (4 AMP in one...
Put a post in the diesel forum but not much response; Google search shows that fuel showing up in the anti-freeze means injector problems or head gasket issue. On truck diesels, they talk about injector cups having problems. Do CAT 3116's have injector cups? Can anyone think of another reason...
Noticed last night that my anti-freeze, replaced three months ago, was discolored in the overflow bottle. It looks and smells like fuel is in it. Is that possible? I don't know where fuel and anti-freeze could cross paths. Does it happen anywhere? I have always run about 10 degrees cool...
1997 SeaRay Sundancer 400's have two florescent light fixtures; before I go pulling down upholstery by mistake, is there a trick to changing the light bulbs?
Thanks! Bud
Hi,
Just finished pumping out and all seemed to go okay, but the DO NOT FLUSH red light is now on. The green one is on too (empty), and the head works okay, but I guess I need to tap lightly with a hammer on some sensor somewhere...any ideas where the sensor is?
I had the system powered up...
I give up. Slowly over the past year I've been collecting parts numbers and buying some extras when I replace those that wear out, but things are wearing out faster than I am growing my list. Does anyone have a good spare part list for a week long trip? I know I don't know what fan belt I...
Help! Just bought a new VHF radio and it has a NMEA input for position reporting from a GPS. I have a Garmin GPS antenna for the Garmin nav computer, so connected the GPS antenna NMEA out wire directly to the VHF radio NMEA in wire (GPS antenna direct to the radio) and...no position found...
I was checking my heat exchanger due to a reduced water flow (expected blockage but found the seawater side clear). So, noting that there were bolts on the OTHER end of the cylinder, I took them out. When I started to pull the end cap away, all of the anti-freeze I owned in the engine exited...
...the amount drained was 50% more than what I could put in. Then, tried the generator as a test, and sure enough it overheated. Probably an air-lock?
I took out the drain plug, drained the old, put the plug back in, filled from the top (radiator cap opening)...any tricks you know of to get...
and went into the cover on the front of the engine. So, no cooling water.
Does anybody have a mechanic in the Washington DC/Woodbridge area?
Has this happened to anybody else? I am boatless until I can solve this one:smt089

Well, water finally rotted the inner-workings of the bench seat next to the captain's chair on my '97 Sundancer 400. While it is certainly possible to recreate one, it will take more time than the fleeting summer will allow. Anybody have any suggestions for locating a replacement? Website...
Getting ready to start my first oil change...bought 15w-40 oil and a Jacbo oil pump...but no engine manual for the oil filter. Does anybody know what part number the oil filter is or a CAT phone number to ask? Thanks in advance!
Unwrapped the boat on Sunday! Now, reduced flow on fresh water lines...any ideas where the pump is and if there is a screen/filter between the tank and the pump that could be clogged? It is a 1997 DA 400...
Anybody know how to get the TV out of the cabinet it is mounted in? I took the two screws out of the base and it slides out until it hits the cushion trim thingy. Does the trim come off so the TV will slide out all the way and if so, how? Thanks!
