Soundbar and wireless subwoofer for the TV

As much as I think this thread slipped off track, I do appreciate the comments on hearing aids, especially the ones concerning what you 'felt like'. My better half is starting to fight with her hearing and listening to you guys sheds a load of light on what I see her doing.

All the threads on here tend to drift, one time the bikini thread turned into a discussion on what size feet are acceptable on a women.

I had a Samsung 27 in the Sundancer, down in the cabin. I could hardly hear the internal speakers. Adding a Samsung soundbar with the wireless subwoofer made all the difference.

We have a couple of Sonos sound bars in the home but honestly they are overkill for our needs. I installed a Bose TV Speaker in the boat and it actually seems to work better for hearing the spoken word than the Sonos (albeit with different acoustics). If you just want to be able to hear the TV dialog you might take a look at this one.

Samsung s getting a lot of votes here. My research keeps returning this Vizio though

Anyone have experience with this one?

Sonos is still on the list, not sure I am ready to buy into their model/services right now though, may be too much for me.
My oldest asked for this for Christmas and I got it for him. His brother liked it so much he bought himself one. Great sound for a good price. It really fills a room with sound and sounds great playing music also.

I guess I never said "what I am looking for". Current set up has a very TL1 Polk Center Channel, 2 Polk TSi100 bookshelves acting as the front surrounds and a Polk 8" down firing sub. Connected to a Denon AVR 1312. I have been happy with it, purchased everything about 11 years ago. TV is a 42" Samsung that's about 6 years old. Receiver, Cable Box, DVD Player and Center Channel all sit under the TV on a console table. Does well for music and TV. Sub is hidden behind the TV.

We are rearranging furniture, rooms and the like and the TV is going into a smaller room. I don't want to bring all of the big bulky audio stuff into that room, so I want something smaller. I've been watching TV in the new TV room for a week, first thing I noticed I miss is the center channel. We watched an episode of Outer Range the other night and I missed the rumble and surround as well. So, I am looking to replace this with something smaller, ideally for under $500. If it's more than $500 I might as well bring the big bulky stuff in and use it. My plan was to keep big bulky stuff in the adjacent room for music only though.

I just bought a water softener for $400 and shark bites to hook it up for a $100….. $500 doesn’t get you too far these days…. You might have to start saving your lunch money :)

Has anyone run the TV sound through the stereo speakers on their boat? On our first SR-260DA, I put a small bluetooth transmitter on the TV and a bluetooth receiver in the aux jack of the stereo. Once paired, the TV sound played perfectly through the stereo system. That was 10 years ago. Would you still need the transmitter for the TV with the new age TVs? Just an idea...

Mine came wired so the TV plays through the Fusion radio via an HDMI cable. If you don’t feel like snaking a wire, a Bluetooth adapter is probably way more convenient.

I just bought $150 in SharkBites for a bathroom remodel. They aren't giving those bastards away.

Yes, I have an HDMI 4x2 splitter/selector that also has a stereo out on it that goes into the aux in on my Fusion system. Works great for live sports and the like.

Blue, are you putting the water softener in the boat ?that might help with barnacles.
Holy Phuck…… we had a party Saturday night 20 people coming to the new house…we literally moved in Friday…. I’m all dressed up fancy shirt….. about an hour before the party my wife says where are you going…. I said to hook up the water softener ……. She goes no come sit down …. I said this will take a half hour. Shut off the water cut half way thru the pvc line and the phucking water explodes….. soaks me from head to toe…… flooding the closet going under the floor into the hallway……. It’s flooding the house and I can’t stop it……. My wife is screaming at me…… so get her to hold the pipe….. now she is getting soaked…… I get zip ties and electrical tape

Stop the gong show….. we used every towel in the house to mop up the mess….. just get that done and the door bell rings…… first guests are here….

the house was plumbed backwards….. I light up the builder they end up coming out reluctantly….. because they blamed me for not hiring a plumber….. he goes you’re right the house is plumbed backwards…… no shit Einstein

You got a screw missing on that through wall bezel and I'm not crazy about those plastic 90's.

my fix the next day….. after I found the shutoff on the street….. I’m not a fan of the whole pex thing….. give me copper solder and fire any day

Reminds me of when I ran my new refrigerator ice maker line into the basement to connect to the water supply, I connected it to the hot water line mistakenly. I had to use your fix to repair the hot water line. And these are old copper lines.
