Proper etiquette when anchored out

Anchored out by ourselves right now, enjoying the peace and quiet until.. the raft up behind us decided to crank up their music and start blowing their air horns. I had a nice mid afternoon nap going in the sun, scared the crap out of me. I thought somebody was about to hit us. Then they decided it would be fun to blow their horns to the beat of the music. Oh and I forgot about the guy racing his crotch rocket boat around us.

Oh well

Other than the anchor drift alarm going off at 1am, an uneventful quiet night. The non etiquette folks slowly left 1 by 1.

We dropped anchor at low tide. High tide was at, you guessed it, 1am. I think that coupled with the boat turning 180 degrees caused it to go off. I had it set to the lowest range, 63 feet. Checked everything again this morning and we're fine.

I could get used to this, water has been like glass since we went to bed. Saw stars for the first time in a while!

Unfortunately etiquette is an unknown concept these days. Arguing has replaced it.

My only local anchorage can be a mad house on the weekends with numerous boats all blasting something different, lots of hooting and hollering and at times volatile drunks.

I retired this summer and simply don't go there on the weekends anymore.

We often leave as the crowds show up and before the scene gets too thick.

One positive is the bikini action.

I can never remember to set the alarm at the drop point as opposed to the shutdown point, so I end up setting my alarm for ~2x the rode length.

Yeah, this was my first time using it. I set it about an hour after dropping the anchor. I now know you have to set it when you drop the anchor.

Saw pic… Want it!
Saw price…

I just stand on the swim deck naked and holding a bottle of Jack and offer to all that come into the cove we are in.
It is strange no one ever camps by us. ;)

We are lucky on our lake. You only have other boats around you when you want to be around others. If you want a spot to yourself there are many many spots on the lake to get lost from the world.

We just spent four days on the lake and not one boat came in our cove.

Good thing you're not in our area because you surely wouldn't like our 10 boat raft ups!
Haha, this place is really not that bad, actually quite nice - I am just that grumpy old man who hates noise (and most people) now :)

"Back In The Day" I was in the middle of those 10 boat raft ups.
