I am having a similar problem and after I read your post I took my prop off. My prop hub is "built into" the prop and is metal and doesn't seem like it should fail. The engine seems to be running perfectly but I am over reving and the max speed is about 25. Any Ideas?

I had a carburetor issue that I fixed. While getting the engine started we pushed the button on the bottom of the throttle so we could rev the engine and not engage the prop. Since then it is not engaging properly. The engine runs perfectly and the transmission engages but not at full power...
