Just in case anyone interested, you can change the switch cables at the EIM
However after tracing and testing the EIM, the switch wasnt the issue - there was a burnt cable and relay from the underwater lights in between the EIM - thats all.
Replaced a few bucks and all working.

I am guessing that the soft switch on dash ma have failed (hopefully thats all it is) and want to move it to a different switch. Hve a guy coming on my boat today who does electrical so hopefully can be quik and simple.

So it seems everyone , except me, needs to have engine solenoids on.
One thing I do have on the boat besides 2x lead batteries for each engine is 2x lithium batteries for house.
It could be that my lights and other items are bypassing the engine batteries and straight to the seperate house...
no problems at all.

I used to leave them on but don’t need to when on Shore power
They only need to be on for engines. you should have seperate breakers for lights etc where these are only engine
