I hav been pulled over twice. One time they pulled along side and asked to see all paper work and saftey items. They never came aboard. I showed them everthing they asked for, and off we went. The second time my wife was sitting in the seat breastfeeding our infant. When the CG pulled along...
$5/ft seems high. We are headed to Hawks Cay next week and are paying $2.70/ft with 35ft min, no length of stay required. This is a special they have going now. There normal rate when I had checked before was $4/ft.
Try Useppa Island. I have not been there in a long time, but my parents...
The issue is not having weight on the swim platform when the engines are running or off. The issue is when the engines are turned off with the weight on the platform. It seems kind of suspect to me, but if you expect Merc to pay for water intrusion problems and they know you carry a dingy on...
When we had our 03 280 I would store a 4hp merc under the rear seat. If I remember correctly I had a fold down seat. I would put a heavy towel down, put the engine on it and carefully slide it under the seat. Worked well and kept it out of the way.
I would say you have a problem somewhere. I am currently going through an issue where the engines ran smooth, but getting up on a plane was an issue. Once on a plane we would run about 3700rpm moving at around 27 mph. Those are the numbers I have always gotten when the bottom is clean. I do...
Take your budget for the 280 and look into a little older boat. It may take a little longer, but you should be able to find a nice boat that will fit your budget and you needs.
As many of you have read in my "bad news" post I had a problem with one engine failing a leakdown test and one cylinder having no compression. Fortunately it is not to major of an issue. The cause was a bad injector. However, during this process one of the potential reasons could have been water...
Yeah, I thought the same thing. That was told to MM by a Merc rep. My guess is that may be an exuse not to cover the damage. Also on that same thought the same could be said if you are standing on your swim platform when the engines are shut down, or if you put your cooler on the swim platform...
MM finally got my engine torn apart and it is the best news possible. No water intrusion, no busted piston, just a tuliped valve .:smt038 They said most likely caused by a bad injector. It looks like our Keys trip is still on . Thanks to everybody for their input.
I asked MM that same question and received 2 possibilities.
1. Risers and/or manifolds rotted and leaked. I just had those checked and my mech said they looked ok.
2. They had a situation where an 07 310 had water intrusion and MM had a mercury rep come look. The 310 had a small dinghy and...
A few weeks ago while backing into a slip I hear a loud noise like to objects slamming into each other and then the port engine shut down. Did not think I hit anything with the prop since we were in a marina. Restarted the engine and when I would put it in gear the port trany would chatter...
I agree with you however it will never happen with the clowns that are currently in charge. In fact they will do everything in their power to beat down the public and stop any meaningful progress. We have to hope the American people wake up and smell the truck loads of B.S. coming out of...

The biggest thing is to make sure your insurance is paid, and you have adequate coverage. Living on the west coast of Fl and growing up on boats that were in the water, I have delt with this my entire life. Really the only safe way for me to move my boat would be to haul it out of the...
