where Can I find a time line and descriptoin of Sea Ray boats? I have a 25ft 1981 255 Amberjack... i need a trailer in the worst way... in searching for a trailer I found A 26.5 sea ray sorrento with trailer and a bad motor 454 merc. guy is willing to take 2500.00 sooo.... he is telling me he...
I am back in town now... and to update we took the boat out for the fourth to enjoy the fireworks... both motors started up just fine and were running great... only when they were warm did the other motor again not start and act like it was "dragging" like it had a low battery or a bad starter...
I think it did start a little sluggish... I was thinking too that we have gotten a sick amount of rain here lately... I have had to use my bildge a lot. So I may have weakend the battery quite a bit too.
Battery is only about 2 months old and has only been used 3 times... we did notice all the posts we a bit loose so they are not getting a good connection. Maybe just throw a battry charger on it and cross my fingers?
I would like to add... my brother said that it could have jumped time but not likely... he is a car mechanic not really a boat guy... but he said if it burns gas and creates power and I can get a book on it then he can fix it lol I just thought I would see if anyone who has gone through this...
I have been out of the country and now I am am home trying to get ready for the 4th. My engine will not start :( My brother and I ran the boat over to get gass yesterday to beat the crowd and after I shut if off it would not come back on.
It's the lead engine (with power steering and alt)...
yup... he can magiver anything to get you home then he seems to enjoy tearing things apart to figure out why it broke and how to make it better lol... I don't have that desire... i just want to put the key in and go.
My brother builds old cars for fun... not really a boat guy. but he is great with a car, and he is the kind of guy you want on the side of the road in the rain. He does not need a fancy shop or computers or any of that lol so he told me once I got my boat he started doing the research on the...
yeah getting your hopes up to be in the water, then the dissapointment in the shop is a double whammy. I had dealt with a little of that with the shop that had my 255 I finally got it in the water but it seem half the stuff they were suppose to go over never got looked at. I have my port side...
ok never mind... I just called the local land fill... basically they charge 38.00 a ton... I am guessing here but say after the motor and gas tanks are removed (they have to be to take it) it weighs 7.5K this is just an estimate... a high one I believe... then I can drop it off there for about...
