Hello fellow 480’s! For those of us up North - its maintenance season! I could use some help. I’ve replaced my windshield wiper tubing (tubing that delivers wash to wipers) twice in the last 4 years, and they need it again. Local yard replaced it the first time with hard plastic tubing (not...

Hi guys! Got a question - hoping you can help me out. 2007 48. Interior headliner (OEM) is starting to drop on most panels in the cabin. I’d like to remove the panels and re-wrap with new. Any idea how the panels come down? Are they screwed, clipped, Velcro? Any specific order the need to...

    Cleaning AIRSEP Filters

So, I just serviced my walker airseps. The indicator that I needed to do this was some oil splatter out of the relief valve on the round collector can prior to the airsep. Now that I’ve serviced with the full kit, I’m still getting oil spatter out of the relief valve on the collector can. No...

Fellow 48’ers! Winter project to change out the 2007 factory headliners. Anyone tackle this yet? Looks like a puzzle for removal…. I don’t want to just start pulling apart with a screw driver, wondering what piece goes first, etc? Any help - much appreciated!

Clothes Storage Ideas? I love my 48 DA. But the master clothes storage has a lot to be desired... The Admiral wants to know how I can rig up a “proper closet” in the aft cabin so she can hang dresses and such. It would need to be temporary. I was thinking of one of those expanding shower...

Hi fellow 48 brethren! 4th season with our 2007. LOVE IT! Just rebuilt the turbo waste gates this winter. argh... but they are good to go, and the ER has been detailed. Question for you - My wife complains about the lack of long hanging storage for her clothes (front bunk has really small...

I put a nice 2” suction cup on the aft cabin door (kept open against the electric panel). When the freezer or fridge door opens (and I don’t catch it), the top of the suction cup offers perfect protection.

    420AC Thread

PO installed vinyl plank flooring below decks in my 48. Love it. No more soggy smelly carpet and a quick swifter and it’s good to go. Hatches are simply cut so that there appears to be a single board across seem (when hatch is closed). No trim work around hatches. Looks great and opens the floor...

Since your concerned with the bottom, I'd start with the haul out portion of the survey and have your surveyor start with the hull, then move to the sea trail and while in water systems. If its soaked - your surveyor should find it and you can cancel him at that point. Given the time of the...

If its a freshwater boat - get the owner history and verify Marine Max or Skipper Bud didn't move the boat from salt water to fresh sometime... No need to pay the fresh water upcharge if its a salty. You can visually see salty's from the tell tale green around all the through hulls, wire...

Planning for the winter haul (boo) on my 2007 48DA. Anyone have a list of oil filters, fuel filters for the mains and racors, transmissions, and genset? Also, what weight oil does everyone use (Ohio boat)?

Brunswick dumping Sports Yachts and Yachts. Where do we stand?

Between foreign tariffs and Sea Ray shutting down larger boat mfg - I’m glad I don’t have a boat under warranty and the used market for popular models just got a 25% increase in value. That’s my take! The guy wanting a new boat just got a 25% price hike and the 420 & 48DA’s (built between 2003...

So my "new to me" 2007 48DA is great (moved up from the 420DA). Getting my hands around the SmartCraft display. It appears that at 90% RPM (2350 RPM), I am running at 68% (port) and 72% (starboard) load. I think I'd like to cruise at 80% load. To achieve loads of 78% (port) and 82%...

    Surveyor Selection

Bump... I too am looking for a surveyor in the Lake Lanier area. Any recommendations would be much appreciated! Scottzzy, Sinbad - after your surveys, now that time has passed - how did your surveys turn out with your boat (assuming you purchased)? Any unidentifiable issues from the survey...
