410 Sundancer/Express Cruiser and 400 Sundancer/Express Cruiser **Official Thread**

Re: 410 Sundancer/Express Cruiser and 400 Sundancer/Express Cruiser **Official Thread

Hello again guys, well I think it's official (pending sea trial) I'm going to be a 400 Sundancer owner. It's a 99' with the 7.4's, 390hrs. After some thought and because I stumbled across this one, I chose the gas for the convenience (Beacon Cove doesn't have diesel) and I can't believe how clean and little use this one has had. I found it at Belle Maer THJEFF. I have to head off to the place that pays for it now. I will try to get back on and tell a little more about it soon. I was just excited and wanted to update everyone on the search. Have a great day everyone.
Sounds like it could be the one in the slip next to us. The owner hardly ever takes it out. Does it have green canvas and named Waterwolf?

That would be it THJeff. Sounds like it's going in the water on the 20th. I will be able to sea trial on the 25th. It sure looks like it wasn't used much as you can tell by the hours. I was told that he is the original owner and it was bought new from Colony Marine and stored indoor heated storage every year. He seems like a good guy. I got an email forwarded Tuesday with his schedule and to let me know that he has the original factory SeaRay sheets that have never been used and he will make sure that they get in the boat. I am excited and this weather is getting on my nerves. I still have to get the 310 ready for the new owner but Mother Nature isn't making it easy for me. I am hoping to launch it on the 15th or 18th. Hopefully we'll see you on the lake this season. Our favorite spot is Fisher Bay, but we do go to Little Moot if that's what the majority on M Dock want to raftoff. Keep an eye out for the green canvas. Joe

Hey guys,

This is my first post on the site. I just purchased a new 2015 Sundancer 410. I was fortunate enough so get a well equipped boat being powered by twin Cummins diesels with Zeus drives. As of now its looking to hit the water by the end of the month! Looking forward to joining this community

Not my boat but the same color:

Ryan

Funny how it took people so long to take to the 'new boats'. I always loved them! Beautiful!

Yes, he's a very nice guy. We have docked next to him since 2013 in the N Row and he hardly ever takes it out. I assume you won't be keeping it at Belle Maer? My thought would be that he's getting out of boating so his slip would be available.

No I won't be at Belle Maer. I am staying at Beacon Cove (M-5). I was able to get the 310 ready and launched it on the 15th. Did the sea trial on the 16th and I'm now boatless. Hopefully only for a week though. LOL. Hope launch goes well for you if you haven't got in yet. Have a great summer and hope to meet you on the lake. Be safe

Hi Gus,

I know this reply may be a little late, however I had the same problem on my 2001 410. The original seat base was redesigned by Gawrelick to fix that issue a few years back. It drove me so crazy so that I ended up replacing it, and while I was at it went with the 18" model so that I could adjust it high enough to see over the bow rise when cruising. I couldn't be happier with the results.

Hi
Has anyone had problems with the electrical sun-pad in a 2000 410 EC? The sun-pad is moving very slowly, and the motor is struggling with strange noises when trying to push it back again. I might need to replaced the electric motor, but as my boat is located 4-5 hours from were I live, I was wondering if anyone knows what make / model this electrical motor is, or have any ideas from own experiences of the what other issues could cause this problem. When disconnecting the rods to the sofa, it slides back and forth without any problems.

Regards Terje

Re: 410 Sundancer/Express Cruiser and 400 Sundancer/Express Cruiser **Official Thread

TerjeG, not sure if this will help or not because I'm not familiar with how the seat works. I just bought my 400 Sundancer and when I tried the windshield vent it would hardly open or close and I thought the motor was weak also. I sprayed a silicone lubricant on the cylinder and now it opens and closes fast with ease. So I did my engine hatch cylinder (even though I didn't have a problem with that ). So if the seat slides back and forth with a cylinder it may just need some lubricant. Hope this helps and good luck.

Has anyone added cockpit ac? I was considering removing the ice maker to add a large unit there and wanted feedback from you guys. On a side note I have the shorter version of the bimini top and would like to add the top that is between the short factory one and a camper back. Has any company started producing canvas for this boat or are they all custom? The shops in my area are so busy no one has been able to even come give me a price in the 3 weeks I have been calling.

Re: 410 Sundancer/Express Cruiser and 400 Sundancer/Express Cruiser **Official Thread

Agree on spraying the rams that move the seat. Also make sure you clean and lubricate the track it slides on.

Re: 410 Sundancer/Express Cruiser and 400 Sundancer/Express Cruiser **Official Thread

Thanks Ezsteps and Wet Dogggg

I had some Teflon-spray on both the cylinder and the sliding tracks, and after a few attempts it now works as good as new. Don't really understand why, because the sofa was very easy to push by hand, but who cares! Have a nice summer in your boats!!

Re: 410 Sundancer/Express Cruiser and 400 Sundancer/Express Cruiser **Official Thread

I have some weaver snap davits on my swim platform and they have a pin that holds the slide in portion of the mount. Does anyone know if the platform is solid? The push pin needs to be drilled into the platform or you loose the pin and slide portion of the mount.
Thanks....Ed

Re: 410 Sundancer/Express Cruiser and 400 Sundancer/Express Cruiser **Official Thread

Most of the platform should be all fiberglass but you should seal the edges of the holes before installing the mounting screws. Rubber gloves and some 4200 at least...

Re: 410 Sundancer/Express Cruiser and 400 Sundancer/Express Cruiser **Official Thread

On the '03 410, the platform is solid, but the stringers are cored with wood for strength...
