I think you will find the "basket" type holder on a 2002 340DA an sys sore and it WILL impede your vision unless you plan to stand up all the time.
You can try Fender Grips. These are white plastic with a thumb trigger. You can get 2 per fender and can haul the fenders up horizontal to the rails and snug them. If you mount them near the back of the rail and about even with the windshield they won't block your line of sight and you can walk long the side. Any more forward and the fenders really don't do much due to the bow flair. Or just use one and as long as you have enough line, you can tie the bottom to the rail and pull on the fender grip for the same use.
