Looks good...Thanks for posting the helpful picture.

Do some people mount these at the rear (and folding forward when not in use)?
Here are the reasons I can remember for choosing that antenna location on the 270SD

- I didn’t want it near the back because I didn’t want folks hanging onto it when side boarding the boat or swimming and other horsing around on the swim platform
- I wanted it close to the radio itself to keep the length of cable as short as I could
- I didn’t want it’s location to interfere with putting on or removal of the aft bimni or camper enclosure
- I wanted a mount surface that was at least somewhat vertical and flat
- if going under a low bridge I wanted to be able to raise and lower it right from the helm
- when the antenna is down I didn’t want it lying across areas that might also have to be crossed by boarding people
- looks….to me I felt it looked better where I put it rather than at the stern

Also, my antenna was a 5’ w/4 or 4.5db, not an 8 footer. This shorter length helped me keep it out of the way when it was laid down. The difference in performance(range) is little so I went with the shorter antenna.

You've given me some great things to consider. I want to confirm what the actual difference in performance is between a 5' versus 8' (I didn't even know that they came in a 5' length.)

Here's my new 05 240.....enjoying the heck out of it on Tampa Bay!

I replaced my water pump a couple of years ago. It was a very simple job, just went down to the local camper superstore and they had one in stock. Had to crawl over the engine to get to the back corner, had my son play physician assistant and hand me tools while i was back there. Seems like it was a $hundred or so. I am told you can just replace the pump diagram if the motor is still good. After taking my old one apart, the diaphragm would be a simple job once the pump was out of the boat.

Unfortunately looks like a job I too have to tackle at some point this season. I have pressure at the outset of use but it doesn't rebuild pressure to run it continuously. I first tried cleaning the steel filter and all the nozzles. I was surprised at all the gunk and buildup despite using water treatment every time I fill up.

I may have to practice up on my yoga poses to contortion myself to be in a position to reach it and work on it comfortably.

A few pictures of our 2006 we picked up last year and 1 pick of or old boat a 1999 stingray next to the new boat

Thanks chuck. I am extremely happy with this boat it is perfect for what we do. We've had 11 people on board and still had enough room to grill and I can't belive how well it handled that amount of people.
It is fully loaded with the 350 mag mpi and bravo 3, dual captain's chairs, docking lights, full camper inclosure, wet bar, dual tables and corsa captain's call exhaust. The only option is doesn't have that I'd like is the sub woofer but I can just add my own. The wake board tower would be nice too but I wouldn't wanna lose my Bimini.

I'm curious, do you actually use the forward ladder? I find it very difficult to use from the water in my boat.

The factory wakeboard tower does not interfere with the bimini which is fantastic!

Now I am working on a stand up paddle board mount for the port side of the tower. I am also looking to get the full camper enclosure and to have a custom "tent" made for the bow to do some boat camping.

Oh wow that's awesome miata I didn't realize it didn't interfere. I thought the tower just had its own little Bimini on it like I see on alot of other boats. If we get more into skiing and boarding I'll definitely look into a tower in the future. The full enclosure is nice when it gets chilly out but takes me quite a while to get it all set up. Mostly because I don't think it was ever used so it's really tight.

Lake bum yhe forward ladder is only if you've pulled up to a beach than its useable. From the water it's not easy to use at all.

Yep that is right about the forward ladder. As to the full enclosure, sometimes you may just put up the front isinglass part if it is raining, but it is awesome to have the full enclosure when it is cold out or if you want to "camp" on the boat.

The other nice feature of the tower is the nav light is built right on so I never need to find the light pole in the dark and pop it in! I think it is one of the few boats where the factory bimini works with the tower. I have a few jealous friends that have to fight with their bimini to work with a tower!

You could undo the front bolts and fold it back. It is one large allen bolt on each side. I have never had to do it but it can be done. I believe Monster Tower made them for Sea Ray.

Yes, monster tower made, and will still make them. Your boat should have a reinforced area in the hull where it mounts. Check under the wet bar sink, up high just above the rub rail for a index card sized area that is thicker than the rest of the hull.

Monster tower will give you a quote if you call them. But shipping g is high. Seems like I was quoted 2500 including shipping a couple if years ago.

I'd have to look to see if it's reinforced. I'm pretty sure I read on this forum somewhere that they all come reinforced if you got the tower or not.
2500 isn't too bad for that tower but way more than I'd be will to spend right now. Me and my friends have just started getting into skiing and boarding. If we really start doing it more often I'll look into a tower in the next year or 2.
