460 DA Owners Thread

I just checked the spec sheet and unless I misread how they calculate the weight, the WB 340 weighs just over 400 pounds including the engine, console, seats, etc. There is a company in San Diego (Impact inflatables) that is selling brand new units (2010-11) for $9500 vs the 13k that I paid for mine in 2011. I have no idea what it would cost to ship to you but I thought I would throw that out there.

Hi guys. Any idea where the master controller for the ACR searchlight would be located? I have some troubleshooting to do.
No up/down movement, however everything else works fine. Thanks in advance.

On my 2005 it is located in the anchor locker. Mounted on the aft starboard wall.

"Crew Lounge"

My controller is also in the same location as fr8. You probably know this, but I didn't when I first got my 460....... The ACR up down is done by the lens only. The housing does not move at all. The movement is subtle and not clearly seen.

The up/down function is actuated by a separate elevator motor inside the light unit. This is likely to be the cause of your issues.
Contact Carlos at ACR carlos.guerra@cobham.com for assistance and parts, he has been very helpful in the past as i have had exactly the same issues.

Many thanks guys. I pulled the unit apart today and cleaned some light corrosion off the slip rings. All operations now good!
And to Sailorjerry, thank you!! I would have spent a lot of time trying to fix the head unit not moving up and down…. :)

And thanks Barlow! That is an email I will be sure to keep….

This is a very interesting post regarding the ACR Spot light. My spot light has not worked since I bought the boat 3 years ago and I have checked all connections, bulbs etc. Last week I went to the ACR website and I found this very handy document. http://www.acrartex.com/media/products/1228/1411201211168759/Y1-03-0266A.pdf

Hopefully this will solve this problem for my light!

Hello Everyone,

I have had my 460 for a couple of years now and HUMPH has shamed me into getting online with you all. We keep our boats at the same marina, in fact bought our boats within months of each other. This is my third Sea Ray. My previous ride was a 1990 270 DA that I bought new at the Cow Palace in San Francisco. Previous to that was a 1987 19' cuddy.

The list of upgrades is pretty extensive. Most notable is the flexiteak deck. I also have a 22" flat screen on the arch to port. There is a refer on deck vice the ice maker. I do have AC in the cockpit. The cockpit stereo has been upgraded to the Fusion w/iphone and two hard remotes one on the starboard arch and the other on the starboard side of the helm. It is interconnected with the Bose system in the salon with is interconnected with the salon TV for surround sound. The TV is operated off a KVH M3 on a Seaview mount. I have an aftermarket air horn system with horns atop the arch and air compressor in the bilge. I have the fishing style canvas rather than camper style. I upgraded the rode to all chain. The master bed has been extended 9 inches. I have a 22 flat panel in the forward stateroom and a 26 in the salon. Above all else the best feature is the Yacht Controller. My slip is designed for me to stern in and this makes the job a joy.

Hello again,

for some reason about half of what I had entered didn't make the shift from here to the post. But I wanted to thank everyone for the mountains of information that has been passed back and fourth I know that there have been items that I will use and if I had been online earlier I would have been able to pass some tidbits too.

Welcome John!
You and I also bought our boats within months of each other! I remember the broker doing the upgrades to your boat before you bought it. I bought the 460 that was for sale up in Sausalito with the custom interior. Would really be interested to hear how the bed extension turned out! I'm 6'3" and my feet hang over the end of the bed presently! Glad Ken (HUMPH) finally got you shamed into joining! WELCOME!
Stuart

Thank you Stuart,

Ken's(HUMPH) better half Kathy is making us better sheets blanket and spread. Something that will actually stay on the bed all night. Other than that it's great. I may not be tall but I am a big boy. We even had the bed extended on the 270.

Do you know Jason Smith the previous owner? He is in Seattle now.

John

John, can you describe how you extended the bed? One of my only complaints about the 460 is the length of the master bed. Thanks!!!

Hello John-
No,I didn't get to meet Jason, but remember well when he purchased your boat and did all the upgrades. Unfortunately for me I was 3 months late in the buying process to have snatched the boat up when he put it up for sale. You have a great looking boat!

I think many are not happy with the length of the master bed. Can you please post some photos and dimensions? We would all be really appreciative!

Thanks John!

I'll drag a camera down and shoot some photos with John to see if we can collectively get some decent information to you guys. John mentioned that he purchased his boat within about a month or two of my purchase but what he didn't mention is how much money in booze he saved me! When someone upgrades boats in our club, many people come pay their respects......for the year at least! John took over the crowd within a month or so and has been paying ever since! Thanks John!
Toy yoT is a great boat and the cockpit has so much room it handles a good size group comfortably. We have spent many a night solving most of the world's problems there.

Hi guys. The PO of my boat was 7'2"! He was an NBA basketball player. I will post some photos and dimensions of the bed extension he had done from new. Needless to say, it is huge!

One of the best mods that we did on my friends 2000 460 was the polycarbonate glass enclosure on the forward 5 windows with some creative opening solutions so we don't need to take it down every time to get airflow.

You have any pictures of this with the windows closed and opened?

Thanks
