Mike,

Great job on keeping us updated. This is not an easy task while delivering the boat that's new to you and going such a long way. I enjoy the blog. Great videos and pics.

I was wondering what caused the wiper arm to break, just a the weather conditions (high wind/waves) or was it rutted in some degree? Did you get it fixed?

You've posted quite a few videos but it looks like the old ones are disappearing. Hopefully, you have the ability to archive all of them online. It's a great story to tell.
If you mouse over the video frame there is a VCR bar that appears with a MENU link on it. Click on MENU and you'll get a scrolling thumbnail view of all the videos posted. They are all there, you just need to scroll using the arrows on either side of the thumbnails that popup.

Just headed out the Oregon with the aid of sea tow showing the way. No way I would have made it out without him. They were dredging the main channel under the bridge. We took a sharp corner and wham, two huge barges pumping loads of crap out. I crapped myself. We took a side passage further down the bridge that wasn't marked.

We are in the open ocean now. Gentle rollers, very little chop. We should be arriving in Norfolk around 5pm. We are covering some serious ground. We left oriental this morning around 8am.

You going to Norfolk? That's way out of your way now... I thought you were going to Virginia Beach (Rudee or Lynnhaven).

Heck... You might want to fill up at Rudee and keep going... you can get to Altantic City before dark.

You think i can make ocean city before dark? Seems awful far.

It's 100 miles from rudee. Maybe, I'll see what time it is when we hit rudee.

I assume that you understand why you need a cell amplifier on your boat now... looooong cruises that are extremely boring with no cell coverage...

I have never fallen asleep... really...

Gotta love the chartplotter when it says "next way point: 120 NM"

Sorry, had to go further offshore for some deeper water, lost cell reception.

Well today I took a shower, made some eggs, vacuumed. Now I'm playing with the radar.

Turtle, watching your blog is really like taking a short vacation!! Thank you!

...did you see me waving at you from Europe??:grin::grin:

Went and had dinner with the crew last night... and stuck the CSR member "mistercomputerman" with the bill. Had a great time... Gave Mike the famous duck toy of mine as a boat warming gift. He had the shiniest boat in the marina:

Mike told us a great story... made everyone laugh for hours...

Apparently, on his previous boat, the vacuflush was not working properly as it would not hold a vacuum. So Mike dives in and takes apart the vacuum tank and duckbills. He didn't have any real knowledge of the system at the time so was just keeping track of the parts as he was pulling them out... it was a very messy job as the "poop smasher" (i.e. bellows pump) was not moving stuff through. He throws up. So there is this one part he just can not figure out where it goes... spends almost an hour trying to find where it mounts in the system... thinks he has it a few times only to find out it doesn't fit in where he thinks it should go... So he gives up. Only to have his girlfriend see it and inform him that the part he is trying to mount in the vacuum tank is a tampon applicator... and it's not hers and she wants to know where the hell it came from. What a mess....

We were kicked out of the restaurant for being too loud and graphic.

I don't understand...on the cover of the menu it said "Rudees Restaurant & Raw Bar", it can't get much more raw than that. What does a raw bar mean? Do they cook the food there? jk

Check please! This has been a great adventure to follow...thanks for sharing.....damn that boat looks nice.

Mike - watch out. With that scruff goin' you may get profiled as you approach the Statue of Liberty or pull in to Atlantic Highlands for fuel and get too close to Naval Weapons Station Earle!

How'd you manage to stick Rick with the tab? Now we both owe him dinner in AC!

That was some funny story, Garry. Thanks for sharing. I wander what was harder, the repair or giving an explanation to admiral how the part got there. LOL.
