Cool Feb Weekend

Awesome Pics John, Are you going to the boat show in Orange Beach Alabama the first weekend in March at The Wharf?

No, sorry. A friend is treating us to a few days in Costa Rica that week (oh, woe is me).

John, what kind of engines are in the 420?
This because I see some more smoke in your video, and this when the engines are on temp.

Wow this REALLY makes me want Spring to arrive soon.
This North East Winter has been long and snowy and I'm so over it.

Great pics though and your boat is beautiful.

I'm no expert. They were smoking pretty good at start up, but the air was still and we woke up to ice on the boats and dock, so it didn't dissipate fast at all. They warmed up about 10 minutes at idle. I'm curious to get opinions on this.

... the air was still and we woke up to ice on the boats and dock...

John, it must due to global warming . Jeeeeze...... while I dream to retire in FL you're telling me you ice on your boat :smt100.

OK I thought you arrived on this video, and that the engines where on temp.

If the outside temp is low, than it's normal you get some smoke at start up.

The motor in this model is not electronic version of the 450 cummins and that smoke is normal for a cold morning. It was one of my concerns when we purchased the 420. Over 60 degrees ambient, no smoke. The 06 model got the new QSC500. No smoke at all but a big differance in price from an 04 to 06.

Another weekend, in between work. Worked Fri Night, Rocked on boat with Gary's favorite tunes. Woke up early and headed to the island for a nice fire, time with friends, and a fresh-filleted Sheepshead over the camp fire. Spent the night, woke up at 0445, pulled 3 anchors, cruised home, then went to work by 0600. Back to the boat for cleanup and DC TV install in the cabin (used to be in cockpit - see TV Threads).

Have enjoyed this thread.....keep it comin'....its a long Ohio Winter.

Very Cool! Thanks, Jason! Great photos, of course.

Thanks, David. Here's a sunset last week, a million minnows, a swimming hairy crab, where our house use to be in '92/'93, and my boat - from my phone.

Hey John, I'm going to be coming to your neck of the woods for the "Seabreeze Jazz Festival" in April.

Don't know if this is your type of music, but would surely love to meet you and your family.

I thought long and hard about cruising down there, but I really don't have the experience to go that distance with me and the first mate. So we are probably gonna drive down and stay the weekend and leave on Monday.

The group I really want to see is playing on that Sunday night. Their name is Fourplay. You can check out their music @ "Fourplayjazz.com", if you listen to this genre of music.

BTW, one of the members is Bob James. He is the guy that wrote the theme song for the T.V show "Taxi".

Hey, Kid, that sounds great! It's not my first choice of tunes, but we do like to get out and see the local events. Also, my buddy Jay (2005 420) is a New Orleans and Jazz freak, so I bet we can make an event of it. We like to park our boats next to the restaurant down town during events. Please keep in touch and remind me when the date gets closer. I have a tendancy to forget about dates and events.

Interesting timing on that last photo, John. I am sure that was just happenstance...
