Not that I hate the next few months....

Why? The water is finally cool enough to swim comfortably, the boat is in the water, and the ambient temperatures are finally starting to make the intercoolers useful again.

You know no one wants to hear about your problems at this time of year. I mean really? Have a heart. :p

I was one of "you" for years..... Carma, I guess.
I have some fairly serious health issues. I got tired of my legs and back locking up anytime it went below 50°. Pure Agony

I’m going back to Jersey in December for Christmas with the wife’s family and I am absolutely dreading it.

I would dread going to Jersey regardless of the weather.

Get a Jersey Mike’s. Florida subs suck, they dont even know what hots are. I went to Larrys Famous Subs, said everything plus hots. They had no clue, put a dam whole pepperoncini on it.
I hate Florida.
Y'all shoulda gone to Firehouse subs. Some of the best around.

No clue what a "hot" is....

Must be an east coast thing
It is hot — but not too hot. It is sometimes referred to as a “relish” but is not sweet. The brands who sell it call it a number of names other than “hots.” Many local sandwich and sub shops — new- and old-school — call it “hots.” It is singular, except when it is plural and refers to slices of pickled hot pepper.
Yup, never heard of that. We ask for banana peppers. Same basic idea.

Just coming up on my favorite time of year.

Jersey Mikes and Firehouse, Pfft!
If you can't find a excellent private owned sub shop around here, you ain't lookin.
The only franchised sub shop I will eat from is this one.

With this last week, I could have left my dock out…..

I've been out of work since July 18th after getting knocked off of a ladder In missed my whole summer with my boat it due to four broken ribs and a no functioned lung now I have to have rotator cuff surgery so by the time I'll heal up I might be putting a boat back in the water

Thanks Skybolt. It's appreciated

Hots is a slang thing around here, that's why you never heard of it. Took a while for me to catch on.

Won't lie, major reason I moved south. Yes Texas is hot from mid May to September but not having to see / drive in snow priceless. AC is cheaper to run than heating. Every once in awhile I miss LI sound but then I remember having to pay to haul / shrink wrap / winterize the boat. Nope not going back. Texas is a big state your all welcome, just don't bring your taxes down with you ;)

My nephew lives just north of the Dallas Fort Worth area and has no plans of ever leaving. I was never going to move out of Florida but....life happens. Now, at my age, I'm not figuring on pulling up stakes and relocating back. Florida is getting expensive now anyway. Lake Murray area in South Carolina sure looks nice. Big lake/reservoir and only about an hour or so from Charleston. Just a pipedream. Not about to own and maintain two places and become a snowbird.

Oh yeah....

Being a Floridian, and now having a historical perspective on this premise,
it seems as though this is one of those "ain't gonna happen" type deals.

Going back to sub sandwiches, although I love Jersey Mikes, they are now about $15 a sandwich. Our local Harris Teeter has made to order deli. The sandwiches there are $8 and just as good if not better. I'm an ex NYer so I appreciate really good breads. Harris Teeter it is for me now.

Fair point, and accurate.

I’m gonna grab some pizza, bagels, Chinese takeout and soft shell steamers and make the best of it while I’m behind enemy lines.

If you ever find yourself at the Jersey shore and need a real sub, this is the place
