I just say “ yes dear” as soon as I see her lips moveI had that. It was getting pretty bad.
I got hearing aids to help with the hearing loss I also have, and the tinnitus is 99% gone. Getting hearing aids was life-changing. It also saved my marriage.
Well, it was also affecting my work. I couldn’t hear in meetings. My kids would be talking to me and I’ve have no idea.I just say “ yes dear” as soon as I see her lips move
They’re hearing aids that can help with just tinnitus, too. I’m no audiologist, but I’d bet there’s some hearing loss too. My loss is mild and in a specific frequency range; my brain was filling in that loss of sound with white noise that was terrible. Some how I can hear ok but I also suffer from tinnitus. Always there. Basically constant white noise. Too close to nitro cars. 3 years on the starting line at the Gatornationsls acting like a photographer with a press pass. The real photographers always gave me a hard time. I did the Race Pages for Cruising Style magazine in Florida. It was an excuse for me to get free rein at the Florida drag races.

If you're talking about the 15K for another new set of hearing aids for the Admiral and the Sonos system for the house you guy's just cost me, then yes.Did this just turn into the whiner thread??
dude that is me, any background noise at all, and I am screwed

That’s the worst. I avoided noisy places like that for years. It wasn’t worth sitting there and pretending I could hear anything.Went to a beer fest last weekend and I felt like I was deaf. Could not hear a thing except noise ...
So are you gentlemen telling me not to get a soundbar, speakers, subwoofer and such because I lose my hearing? ;-)
Ditch the foam earplugs. They’ll save your hearing, but kind of ruin the concert experience get a set of these instead. Reduces the overall volume but the music still sounds good. Makes it so you can actually enjoy the concert without being in horrendous pain afterwards.GF makes me wear foam earplugs now when we go to concerts and such, I resisted it for a while but now I love it, I can hear after the concert.
Not at all! Get something that sounds good to you. It’s just that with the evolution of technology you can get a simple system in a single sound bar that delivers really great sound. You might not need to go overboard with a gazillion speakers. So are you gentlemen telling me not to get a soundbar, speakers, subwoofer and such because I lose my hearing? ;-)
Probably, yes. A lot of TV sound settings. Also, now have options to enhance just the voice without boosting all the bass and music. Sometimes it’s called clear voice or a true voice or something similar. My hearing especialy low base voices with background noise is horrible. No problems with my old vizio tv the had the speakers in the front but the new tv has the speakers in the back and side so I find myself turning the volume way up. That makes the voices better but music and sound effects are way too loud and even scare my cat. Would front facing speaker bars help?
