Love ya man, the tone in your recent posts has been a bit, negative lately. You OK? Please tell me it's not retirement...

:)

Sorry about that, i should stay off when like that, That new Suzuki I recently bought for the zodiac. Bought home for winter recently, went to flush it, refuses to start, not a sputter, pull cord and nothing. Now back at dealer at $120 an hour if not warranty problem. So fed up with boat shit not working, even brand new. Depressing.
I should sell it all, buy a tent, and follow Carpe around.
I have reached a point where I can’t be confident anymore taking out either boat. Every other time something breaks.
Apologies to anyone I might have said something stupid to.

I understand about the boat stuff. I got a new Mercury 15 hp EFI motor to replace a 2 stroke Evinrude. I wanted something more modern that I didn't have to constantly rebuild the carb, adjust linkages, and not have it idle.

2 years in a row the shift linkage snapped in the lower case with the engine stuck in reverse. The local authorized shop told me Mercury's reimbursement for that repair vastly discounts the actual time so he looses money. If it breaks again he'll be "too busy" to fix it under my 5 year warranty.

If you play your cards right, you can just ride with Gofirstclass in his motorhome….

Take a deep breath, and step away from the issues. I feel the same way sometimes, last summer, I had 3 prop strikes on logs, a fuel filter issue, and a blower quit, all in about 3 weeks.

Been there, done that @Pirate Lady. I think you followed my engine overheating issues this summer, I almost gave up. 3 months of "no new to me boat" while everyone around me was boating. Remember, these are 1st world problems we have...

Oh and you’ll love this. I sold my previous inflatable and Coleman outboard to slip neighbor last month for 1/3 what I paid 2 years ago, hella deal. I gave him all paperwork including owner and service manuals.
He calls me Sunday morning, bitching it wont start. Dumbass didn’t open the fuel valve and air vent on gas gap. I told him when he picked it up. It’s in the manuals that he obviously didn’t read.
I also told him multiple times DO NOT USE ETHANOL GAS. I just know come spring he will be bitching the carb is all gummed up. I just know it’s coming. Nice guy, dumb as rocks.

Yep --- horse to water .....

If it's not one thing, it's another. I decided to trade in my DA to avoid the hassle of selling. What they offered me for trade-in was criminal, and everything that could go wrong did, but it's over now. Boatless until May. Fire sale coming on new/in box/unused Mercruiser parts and other goodies

Hang in there - that crap seems to come in waves, usually one at at time but once in a while it stacks up.
It will pass.

Sounds like a good opportunity to say leave me the eff alone dude.
Cant, he in slip next to me. One of those LAB I write about. A formerly nice Tiara that I never seen leave the slip. Nice guy, don’t want to diss him as the kids say. Told me in august he took the distributor out of both engines, can’t figure out how to replace them. Has a 100 ton Captain license. That’s when I realized they can’t be that hard to get. Ha ha ha!
Ok. I feel better already!!!

Little outboards can be tricky. I found if I stick to a procedure that works, it's all good. But sometimes if it sits a while, and won't start, walk away and let it sit. Then come back and try to start it again. I went to winterize my Merc 6 and I hadn't run it in at least a month. It took several pulls where it used to start on 1. I used to run it in the dink at WOT for hours on end, no problem. And this is the OB that went into the drink upside down with the cover off
