In the body count they even include the two old fat guys that were at the capitol but didn't participate or go in. One of them was already in the hospital while most 'protesting' was going on. If I remember correctly the other was standing on a sidewalk elsewhere on the capitol grounds, making a phone call or trying, when he had a heart attack. Maybe the walk from the rally was too much for him.

It was front and center Jan 7th and the resignation of his "key people" show what a shit show Trump created.
 
I think the reason he wanted to walk with "his people" to the Capital was that he pictured himself as "the commander" leading his troops into battle. He wanted the whole world to see him leading "his troops" up the steps of the Capital building and he would be the first one through the doors of the building.

I also think that is the reason he raised such a fuss when the Secret Service agents in his detail refused to take him there.

Trump's policies, by any objective measure, put this country on the best economic footing in last 50 years. Biden's policies have caused massive inflation, spiking interest rates and a recession. So much better then Trump. Now you can dazzle me with all the "inherited the worst economy", "Putin's price hike" bullshit. It is right out of Obama's playbook, blame the last guy. Probably because this is Obama's 3rd term.

His "troops" without weapons who where going to take over the capital protected by an armed police force, including secret service as the VP was there. Come on man. :)

Yes, I was a cop and am now retired from law enforcement. I understand your comments about no cross-examination but I also know the pressure that comes from being put under oath. I find it hard to believe you could assemble THAT may people, put them under oath and not expect some minor "bending" of the truth, but like I said, the pressure that comes from being under oath carries a lot of weight.

I spent a lot of time in court testifying, always under oath. I always figured my integrity was not for sale. Not for any price so I never felt a significant pressure from being under oath. IF I were the kind of cop that didn't mind bending the truth I think I would feel a lot more pressure from being under oath.

One of my long-term best friends was a defense attorney. He was defending a guy I had arrested for possession of drugs. Without going into the details of the case, the attorney knew that he had a question that my answer to it would determine his client's future--freedom or jail. If I answered the question honestly it would set the defendant free. That one question led to our friendship and it still is strong.

Golfman, c'mon man, you and I both saw the same videos. Those were not air-soft guns those people were carrying. That's not to say that everyone there was packing, but obviously there were many who were.

And I think you would have to agree that peaceful, friendly group of Trump supporters didn't say peaceful very long. Watching them break down doors, break windows and show other uses of force, especially against the police officers, you have GOT to know they were not "let in" by the cops. That the cops didn't start shooting shows superior restraint. It would have been suicidal to start shooting in the face of an armed crowd that vastly outnumbered them.

Well I certainly didn't see a lot of guns, if any, that I can recall. And there are videos of the Capital Police "allowing" people in. They aren't showing the whole picture -- just the anti-Trump narrative they want. Cullerad let it slip earlier -- it was a rally that turned into a riot. That happens a lot throughout history.

And a lot of the "testimony" is self serving opinion.
 
Ya know, just to be completely transparent, it's not my law enforcement background that makes me so mad about what happened at the Capital, it's my military background. I am a dyed in the wool patriot and to watch that crowd storm our nation's Capital just really pissed me off. Watching the hearings that I've watched (I think 3 of them) it became apparent to me that those bastards attacked not only my Capital, but they attacked MY COUNTRY. That Trump ignited that protest then failed to act when it turned into a riot really pissed me off.

Hi legal advisors, hell, even his own kids were trying to get him to act to stop the riot. But he didn't. He watched it from the Executive Dining room. Only after it was obvious that "his people" could not stop the peaceful transfer of power because all of the legislators were safely hidden away, did he go on TV.

Self-serving bastard.
