Laffer’s general idea of supply-side stimulus can sometimes work. Cutting tax rates that primarily benefit rich people shifts wealth from the middle classes to the rich. That might sound unfair, but in developing countries where there’s not enough money to fund the investment needed to spur growth, a Laffer-style policy could (temporarily) help stimulate economic expansion by channelling wealth to potential investors.

But this scenario is not applicable to the US. Private investment tends to ebb and flow with the business cycle; when demand is feeble, so is investment. Cutting taxes on America’s rich isn’t going to encourage them to invest more—they already have plenty to spend and aren’t spending it. Worse, by shifting wealth from middle class families to the moneyed few—a group that is able to consume far less than the working masses—this sort of policy suppresses consumption, which in turn discourages investment in productive businesses. Slowing demand drags on growth, causing debt and unemployment to rise.

Art Laffer likewise predicted President Obama’s plan would “destroy the economy” (it did not) and that President Trump’s tax cut would “pay for itself many times over” (it did not pay for itself at all), among many other failed predictions. Not content to botch his analysis of the federal budget, he has parachuted into several state governments and prodded Republicans into adopting his utterly false worldview. In Kansas and Louisiana, Republican governors listened to Laffer and produced fiscal catastrophe so comprehensive and undeniable Republicans in their state revolted.

Well, for one he is on video telling people what to do -- in other words instigating. Yet he walks free. But the old lady with cancer is headed to jail for basically doing the same thing. Does this make sense to you? Doesn't to me.

I suggest you read up on Laffer. His model was based on reducing overall tax rates. And his tax theory had less to do with the economy and more to do with human behavior. When tax rates are high normal humans (yes, even the vaunted middle class) will spend time, money and effort on reducing their tax liabilities. Make the tax rates more palatable and normal humans will not spend time, money and effort on reducing their tax liabilities and just pay the tax they owe. Hence, when the tax rates are more moderate, the government receives more tax dollars. From an economic stand point, he is a supply sider, a tactic that has been proven to work. I am not going to debate that on a forum, too much typing. I will say this though, I know a lot of "moneyed" people who employ a whole lot of others. I don't know anyone in the middle class that is employing lots of people. YMMV.

And the conspiracy is that he lied to the FBI in his interview and the other party involved(can’t recall is name…) lied for him when they both said he was not instigating but instead trying to calm the crowd?
He was an idiot for being there in the first place but that applies to a lot of them. Not sure why the focus on him vs a whole lot of other people?

I don't know, nor do I care if he's a government agent. The question I want answered is why was he not arrested and charged when others who engaged in similar conduct have been? We are supposed to have equal application of the laws, yet in this case no satisfactory answer has been given. You got one?

I do not. I also don’t know what he might have done to warrant arrest? Not sure. It’s just odd that there is such fixation on this name.

Go find the video's of him instigating the crowd and then tell me he shouldn't be arrested like many of the others. Hell they have a whole committe out to get Trump because he told people to go and peacfully protest.

You never answered my questions, but you're being very disingenuous. You make it sound like any tom, dick or harry can have a gun sent UPS to them. But now you're talking about being a licensed collector.

We were not discussing licensed dealers or collectors.... but regular Joe's.

Again - if you're a regular citizen you cannot buy online and have it shipped to your home.

As I said multiple times professor, that does not apply to those that are not regular citizens- ie those that hold licenses or permits that masses do not....

So please, show me where regular citizens can buy online and have a gun shipped direct to their home, as repeatedly said in the MSM.

Via UPS and FedEx.....

Again.... not regular Joe's..... who CANNOT have a firearm shipped directly to them (unless it's being shipped back from a manufacturer after a repair)....

Actually the purpose of the committee is to try to bar Trump from running again, they fear they cannot cheat enough this time…
