Highfield… any regrets?

I use a typical Jet Ski trailer. They are mass produce and cheap. Bought it used of craigslist for a few hundred bucks. I then used 4 pieces of unistrut to raise the bunks to a height that the tubes no longer sit on the fenders.

that's my hope is to find one of those used locally. Turns out people sell trailers all the time but they also come with Jetskis

I had this cover made at a local canvas shop, stays on really well.
What is your sequence to install those rub-rail clips when on the back of the boat? Or, how do you keep them all in place as you go from one side to the other? In my case there is no swim platform aft of where the dinghy sits on the boat to it seems to me that those outboard clips need to be placed from inside of the dinghy....

Mine overhangs the hydraulic platform but
I make sure the dinghy is strapped down to platform so I don’t take an unexpected swim.

I just picked this one up today

We liked what we see in construction, style & weight. We have a 360 Classic GT w/ 30 hp Merc being assembled. We are grabbing a new Karavan Trailer as well. Selling our 13SS Whaler and our 330 Mercury Ocean Runner rib w console. this will take its place nicely on our 44" wide Sea Lift.

Didn’t bed these yet but got it all mocked up. I’ll be test fitting the dinghy on the hard so I can mount to tie downs with good access to the underside of the platform.

There will be a core on that platform. Drill the holes a bit larger. Seal from bottom then fill with catalyzed polyester resin. That will soak into the core. Let cure, Then drill the hole you need. That polyester will save the platform in the long run. Have fun!

thanks, its actually a solid glass platform. I was a bit surprised to find that myself, although I believe the supports do have some coring.

Same with the transom. i mounted new tabs and a set of 1 7/8 stainless struts thru bolted and the transom is solid glass about 2" thick.

she’s a well built boat!

How do you do a "clip-on" cover with the Highfield tender? I don't think there is a lip on the rub rail to connect the clips...

this is my Highfield CL340 with clip on cover on my 370 Sundancer.
The clip on covers work great.

I bought my CL 340 with a trailer. It was made by a company called Genesis.

what was your source for the clip on cover itself?

I bought the Dinghy from Coral Gables Yacht Sales in Holland Mi.
Dinghy , Cover, Trailer and 25 hp Suzuki we’re all a package deal. They have someone that makes the covers for them. The elastic cord and hooks are sewed right into it. It is a very heavy duty cover. You can trailer the dinghy down the highway at 70 miles an hour and the cover stays on just fine. I don’t trailer mine with the cover on it but I have a buddy that does.
