460 DA Owners Thread

I'm ordering the latch asap-great suggestion! Yep, we have three grown sons, my wife loves the basking in the sun rays and we have a Sea Ray Sundancer......seemed perfect once I get the "R" installed!

Nice. We have 3 grown boys as well!

Very nice-they make.good deckhands for sure when they are around! Do you by chance have a link for a stainless latch for the windless hatch on the starboard bow?

I don’t yet but would like to find one!! I did replace the windlass foot pedal covers to stainless 3 years ago...they look great!

I'll bet that looks awesome. If you get down TN way, let me know, there is a good bourbon and a steak with your name on it any time!

As a side note, we bought our Sea Ray 460dA (Full House) in Holland MI -youay have seen it on the lake up there.

Ok, I'm checking it out tomorrow and see if that will work...man, I'm going to owe everyone on here a steak dinner!!!

I never saw it up our way...by boat, it is about an 7-8 hour run to us from Holland...not saying it never got this way, but I always check out the 460's when they do. :)

Wolf...if I remember don't the 460's have the white square Perko latch's on the starboard bow? If so, maybe this would work.. https://alltackle.com/taco-latch-tite-stainless-steel-2-7-16-square/

Darn...close but no cigars. The cut out hole from Sea Ray is 2-3/8"..the faceplate on this is 2-7/16. 1/32" overlap on the 4 sides makes me a little skittish.

On another note, the deck access by the foot switches is listed as 6" in the parts manual, but the outer ring is 9"..the actual access hole is 6". I thought I had found a nice SS alternative to this plastic one. The search continues! :)

Where did you get the stainless foot switch covers?

They show as out of stock currently, but they seem to get them in quickly.

Here's another place about the same price:

Here's another place...a little less yet.

well @TheWolfTC I can see you are going to cost me a ton of money! I just ordered the foot control covers--those look amazing! And I am not getting enough air pressure from my compressor--so my options are to try and find a replacement compressor and figure out how the heck I am going to install it........or wire up 12v electric horns.....my boat neighbors are going to be all over me if I don't fix the air horns.....

I love to spend O.P.M.!!! :)

What I did with the horn was to install a new one on the arch. I installed the new compressor on the starboard side in the arch via an access hole where a speaker was originally installed. It was then easy to run the new hose up the arch to the top and the wires down the arch to the helm and simply connect them to the existing horn swatch.

Trying to replace the factory compressor would prove difficult in my opinion. If the 12v wires were long enough it may be possible to put in the new compressor just behind the access panel and leave the old one dormant....but splicing the wires may be a challenge.(?)

I will try and get pics tomorrow of the compressor installed in my arch if that would help.

That would be great. How did you mount the compressor in the arch? I definitely want to use the existing horn switch if I can't just replace the existing compressor.
