48 DA Owners Club

My guess is they probably run different water systems so not to lose water pressure when running water from different faucets, showers or toilets. It's a great idea, when I am in the shower and my wife flushes the toilet or runs sink water I lose pressure and have to dodge the hot water... uhg.
No they are parallel plumbed into the same main feed to the manifold.

Yes I picked up an Aqua King II also just to keep on board as a spare. My buddy just got his 03 46DA this week and he has 2 of them plumbed in parallel on seperate switches. Kind of a cool idea as you have a redundant system already plumbed and built in. Anyone know why they do this??? Reduntancy or pressure?
Mine are in parallel for redundancy - only use one at a time. Same for my two AC pumps for the four cabin units (my bridge AC unit has its own single pump).

Carter, does it increase your water proessure when you have them both on? i.e. flushing toilet and running sink and shower at the same time holds good pressure with both vs one?

Spending our first weekend on the boat. Get to the marina, plug-in power and hook up to the water at the marina. The fresh water pump is off. Open a faucet and..... NOTHING.
There is no water runnning. Nothing.

Thank goodness my buddy knew what to look for.
For those that don't know, (i didn't), there is a city water regulator right behind the inlet.

This piece of junk, besides being cracked, was completely inoperative.
There is no reason for this to be behind a panel. I'll be ordering a replacement and keep it external.
Hope this helps someone. Thank goodness my friend knew. WHEW!

Probably just a stuck plunger inside from never being used. Most people hate these as they sink boats. I use mine occasionaly, but have to of had to turn around once and go back to the dock as I forgot to turn off the main feed. You might be able to free it up sticking a pick tool into it to pop the plunger free. Otherwise west marine alsways has them in stock.

Thanks Grant.
Quick question.. How would these sink a boat?

I found this as well a few years ago and said the same thing. Tossed it in the trash and built a portable external filter with regulator for dockside water connection. Will post a pic when I get to the boat later.

Thank you JB. Seems like a good plan to me.

Shaps here are a couple of pics of what I did for dock water. It’s a filter and pressure regulator set up and as you can see from the second pic it does not impede storage in the locker.

Fitting fails, hose is connected and running fills you boat with water. How long can the bilge pumps run?

Got it.
I don't stay connected to the hose if i'm not on the boat. Makes sense of course.. Thanks Grant.

How were the mosquitoes? We’ll be there this week from July 1st-5th.
Mosquitoes were out from sundown for about an hour. Other than that fine. Sand flies on the beach were annoying. Food truck is open, so there is some concessions.

Yessir. That is D Dock in Watch Hill. It's in a national park. it's very tranquil.

My phone went into the drink last night with all the pics from the weekend. Hopefully the pics were saved to the cloud.
Ahh D dock....don't take D dock for granted! I've been going to Watch Hill for well over 20 years (and many smaller boats along the way) - and I used to lust for the boats on D dock. You've 'arrived' when you're on D dock at Watch Hill.

Make your reservations on Dockwa in advance though - we booked 4th of July (and the balance of the holiday weekends) in the first week of March, not easy to get a slip for larger vessels.

+1 for Dockwa. We use it all the time. It's great and seems like a requirement on the south shore.

Wifey made reservations at Seaview for fathers day in Feb, and that was before we even closed on the boat!

This is the first weekend we were not at Watch Hill this year. How were the mosquito's? They had been ok up until last weekend. We are heading back on Friday for 10 days.
