George Floyd

@Boat Guy so far no further news on the missing kid. All the info I got was from Facebook stuff so who knows how much is true. I haven't talked to my step-son since this started so haven't heard anything from him. My granddaughter is here with us now so when we take her home tomorrow I might hear more about it if he is home. My wife is the one that said they had found some potential evidence in the house but I don't know if she got that directly from him or from Facebook.

And yea, my wifes formers students husband got called back to work making $15/hour. She was complaining because they were losing $1200 every 2 weeks now
 
A guy that worked at the same club that George Floyd and the cop worked at said that those two knew each other because they both worked security and they bumped heads on occasion. He felt Chauvin had to have recognized Floyd and knew who he was arresting.

What if Chauvin was treating Floyd rough during the arrest because he had a personal beef with Floyd? What if the incident wasn't based on racism at all? What does the country do then.....OOOPS, nevermind?

Who said it was based on racism.... the media, politicians, BLM, protesters?.... until we understand the cops side of the story we don’t know anything.
This whole thing is a joke and an excuse to push a narrative and create something that isnt there.... systemically anyway

I came to this great country as a political refugee. My father was initially a pro Castro revolutionary as were my 3 uncles. They quickly became counter-revolutionaries and participated in the failed Bay of Pigs invasion. I know what politics can do to a country and a culture/race.

Batista created Castro. Castro was a result of a failing corrupt “democracy”. I put that in quotes because Batista’s second term was not a result of an election.

My heritage and family is very familiar w revolution. Most of Cuba’s history is about constant revolts.

None were “organized” by elite 3rd parties. They were organically conceived although not always organically executed.

What is happening now is different in this way. It is an orchestrated coup with now realistic end game outside of the coming elections.

Their numbers are very small compared to our entire population. The influence and deceit is propagated by the media and I include Fox in this. They are shameful in many respects just like the liberal media.

As I said in a previous post. Nothing will change till blood spills. This is beyond talking and “coming together “. That’s liberal Marxist bullsh$t.

Through the course of history armed resurrection is met w armed resurrection. This will eventually occur. No question in my mind.

Lastly, the group most damaged by all this will be blacks. They’ve allowed themselves to be used and manipulated.

If you want to see systemic racism, true racism, look to countries in Africa right now and throughout history. That is systemic racism. Not what you see here.

So far this week Jeff Davies and another monument was torn down in Richmond. A Confederate monument in Portsmouth was also torn down. I shouldn't give a damn but I do. You see my family's names were on the one in Portsmouth. Grandfather Curling gave is life for VA. Virginia, NOT SLAVERY! Portsmouth PD stood by and did nothing to stop the riot, I don't know what to think of that.

So you see now they have attacked MY heritage and torn down a monument honoring my kin and their lives fighting for my Virginia

Just how am I supposed to feel about that? Should I drive to Richmond and wrap a rope around Aurther Ash and tear him down? Two wrongs don't make a right, but it would sure feel good right now

Yes! If they have the right to tear down monuments offensive to them then you have that same right to tear down any monument offensive to you.

See where this is going? So they get to get away w rioting, burning and pillaging for their reasons. Those Blue state politicians allow it.

I have this huge tree in my front yard. How about I sling a hanging rope over a branch and light a burning cross at night. How would that be different from all they’ve done?

Unfortunately it seems we’re headed there. Speaking w my neighbors, friends and family there’s a growing resentment that these commie terrorists are allowed to skate.

Soon the other side will come out. What then?

Gentlemen, it's called mob rule. And shame on the elected "leaders" who have allowed this to happen. Hopefully there will be hell to pay at the ballot box in November and not the streets.

Whoooa man, the imagery that goes along with throwing a rope around Ashe's head to topple his statue would blow the top off the pressure cooker.:eek:

I know there's some satisfaction in a little 'get back' but in my experience it doesn't usually last to long and sometimes bites you in the ass after. Cool heads guys....IMHO.

Scenario 1 -
  • As this is a new sovereign nation a wall needs to be erected and entry controlled.
  • Resources that the US provides this new nation (power, water, sewer, communications, and data) must be paid for or cut off.
  • The real property located within this new nation is owned by others; lease payments are due from the new nation.
  • It appears that the central Seattle 911 call center is within this new nation - the mayor needs to articulate a use agreement and the city must pay the new nation for it's use however lease payments are due so zero sum gain.
  • Any goods coming into the new nation require a tariff to be paid at the border.
  • As this new country is outside of our financial control the banks cannot exchange currency with it.
  • It will be interesting to see how GDP is developed.

Woody, I'd kinda like to see your opinion?

I did see that the monument in Portsmouth fought back. When they pulled it down it fell and hit one protester in the head, it split his head down to the bone. Last I saw he was in ICU

Some one I met in the southern long ago called your Civil War The war between the States. I sort of get it. All were members of America and some had different ideas how things should be run. The protests, rioters and looters are not fighting for a regional cause. If they had a cause worth fighting for they would be like the south and be willing to die for a cause not just go shopping without cash. In Canada they are taking down statures of our first prime minter and founder of our country because he did things people thing are wrong today. Cities are renaming streets for the same reason. If one does not remember the past it will keep being repeated. In a hundred years will the streets named after people killed in these troubles be changed because they were not perfect? It all seems a little stupid. The elected people seem to be shopping for votes.

50% of Americans are Republicans and 50% are Democrats. And the way I am seeing it, there is increasing polarization of views behind pure idealistic principles but without finding middle ground. Which ones are the sheep? One is not "wrong" and the other "right". There are many peaceful prosperous nations around the world that are much more socialist than the US. The more you allow polarization by politicians on BOTH sides (by each side voting in leaders on the extreme, rather than centrists) the more you are headed for disaster.

Civil war and rebellion will NOT make a stronger USA this time around. It will be the end of the USA. Unity and finding common ground is what is needed, not more division. I don't know how to stop the direction you are going, but I really hope you do. I have not heard one leader with a real solution that can re-inspire a nation.

Sorry el Capitan, but killing enough democrats so that the far right can take over is not going to work. Hitler had that idea and it didn't work out that well for him or for Germany.

Sorry, but your stats are off. It's closer to 1/3 of D, R and independents.

And when you say "polarization of views" what do you mean? Free everything? Minimum basic income? Abortion up to and after birth? Defunding the police? These are not majority positions, but yet we are bombarded with them every day.

The fundamental problem is a faction of people who don't believe in the founding principles of the country -- most importantly individual liberty. They want to "reshape America." Reshape it into what? To be more like insert country here? But we fled those countries for a reason. So why do we want to be like them? Why don't we want to be like us?
