So, I just got a call from a friend telling me my CO detectors are both beeping on my boat. Boat is winterized in the slip, plugged in to shore power along with many other boats. Absolutely no boats running (no combustion) in the marina. Has anyone had this issue? Is this definitely the "end of life" indicator for the detector(s)?

All three of mine did the same thing and removed them all - putting new ones in this coming spring!

Probably time to replace them, they only have a five year life span. I unplug mine while the boat is in storage.

My first winter, mine did the same thing. As you say, no combustion, no CO. I spoke with the Marina Manager, and he says that they do that all the time. He just unplugs the power to them for the winter. Just don't forget to plug them back in at Spring commissioning.

Yes....a friend down at the boat told me the panel indicators are all showing full voltage.....I'm going to replace the all of the CO detectors
If they are beeping once at a regular interval every 30 the 60 seconds then it is probably low voltage from the batteries on the port side. I had a similar issue this past Spring, a bad converter/charger was the culprit. Being connected to shore power and showing full AC voltage didn't matter, they are reliant on the 12 volts DC coming from the port side. I removed the cover and disconnected the little multi-pin connector will give you some peace while you are doing the repair. A great test is to follow Jaybeaux's advice and reconnect them.

Any thoughts about using a mirror image film on sideglass in Cockpit for heat management?

They are doing some great things with ceramic coated films in reducing 59% of total solar energy and up to 80% of infrared rays and 99% UV.

I have a 3M authorized window tinter who I think is pretty good. He said marine applications are really harsh on the product (not just ceramics that he thinks are the bomb) and he can't provide the 3M guarantee that he has to in order to keep his authorization. I asked if he would just "do it" and he declined. There might be other coatings or products so I thought I would throw this out to anyone in the forum to see if there is any experience here. I really want to do it.

I was really curious and called 3M... They wont give you a reason why they won't warranty it. I ended up talking to manager and he said it was designed for Cars and homes not boats.. but couldn't tell me why or what would happen to it if you did go ahead. It doesn't make sense..

Well I thank you for your guidance on this issue! I can't say enough about how great the CSR forums are. Anyway, I certainly knew that my port batteries were in need of replacing. In fact the port and starboard batteries are 4 seasons old. But then again the CO detectors are original to the boat! So I suppose the beeping CO detectors could be either thing. New CO detectors are Amazon Priming (new verb?) tomorrow.

I am looking also, please let me know what you find out?

Thanks for that. Interesting answer. I am going to try to source the product and find a different installer. Might as well give it a shot. Worst case, the problems will reveal themselves after a while and I'll get it off or...not

Thought I would share new cockpit TV install. Married it to WiFi, DTV, local TV through Glomex, and pumped sound through Fusion system and amp. Created mount in 316 SS, it swivels and moves vertically about 5” if needed. It’s a Samsung 32 smart TV curved in white.

That is BAD***!

I love the white frame. What do you mean by 'curved' in white?

I'd love more details and pics of your swivel. And how you intend to meet demand.... :)
