What year? The 268 became a 270 then a 290. The 250 became a 270. The 270 became a 310. Between 89 and 93. And there were 2 different boats called a 270 in the same year.

 

Thanks for your comments, I am trying to buy a sea ray. Was looking in boatrader.com and saw all these model. I want to buy a used one. Prices for a 2008 range from 50k to 80k. What is your recommendations between 280 260 and 370. Thanks

 

i assume your talking about the 97-00 (non se) 270da and the '01-'08 280da - very similar - the 280 has a tiny bit more beam and is FAR more common with twins - most 270s were single 454 - a few were twin 4.3 - the most common 280 power is twin 4.3, but there are a lot of twin 5.0 and single 8.1 boats out there too - the layouts are basically the same - buy what you can afford based on condition, not year - the 280da is one of sea rays finest - the only real faults are a small gas tank, lack of storage, no real space at the helm for flush mt electronics and a water tank vent that makes the tank hard to fill (im nitpicking)

 

I will digress to the guys who know those years. I am more of a 89 - 94 guy.

 

Don’t buy anytime soon, as Esposito said, you got a lot of soul searching to do before you float.
