Vibration after running aground

Ran aground yesterday on my 2004 280 Sundancer in about 2’ of water. Went outside the buoys. After BoatsUS towed us off, I noticed a slight vibration. I checked the starboard prop, no damage. I was unable to check the port prop because the outdrive wouldn’t raise. Has anyone experienced a similar problem or have any ideas?

I don't want to Jinx you. But a friend of mine with the same boat did the same thing you did three weeks ago. He tried to get up on plane and heard a loud bang. And he blew his drive. Its getting repaired and should be back in the water this week.
Hopefully its just your prop.

Good Luck

1132, your insurance on the boat would likely cover the damage including rebalancing props, fixing drives, fixing the drive that won't raise, etc.

I'd give your company or agent a call. Many of us have been there with the "running aqround" problem.

Sorry for the late response. I hauled the boat a couple of weeks ago. The vibration could be one of two things, or both that I discovered. I cracked the skeg off the starboard outdrive, and noticed the gimbal ring is loose on that same drive. I can push the from side to side about 2-3 inches. So either the gimbal ring is worn out or the upper gimbal bolt is striped out.
