We seem to bring it up a lot in various threads. Let's discuss it here.

Wow, we did that very thing, however before the Costco vodka was available. Grey Goose was the winner, followed closely by Svedka. Chopin, Belvedere, Absolute, Stoli, were all voted down by almost all. The surprise was Smirnoff was behind the top two but ahead of the lower four. We has 8 ballots as well.We had an interesting discussion over the best tasting vodka.. It was a poker game at the house with 8 guys...friends and a couple strangers. In the bar I had Ketel one, smirnoff, grey goose, Costco red bottle, Absolut and some weird thing my college aged kids had in there ... It was a blind taste test ... All 8 guys picked Costco brand. Every vodka had a unique taste and harshness which was interesting...
Now this wasn't scientific or planned but I think a pretty interesting response with the limited samples available.
Could'nt tell from your sig, but you definitely sound Canadian!!Well, I don't drink any hardened spirits at all, if thats the proper terminology, and generally don't drink wine either, though I do keep some of that on hand .
But I love beer. Generally there is Heineken Light, Labatt, Moosehead and Shiner Bock in some combination in the fridge. And it might be in my head, but it tastes better out of a bottle or a glass.
In the summertime I also enjoy Moosehead Radler (beer and juice). I dont particularly like it as a 'just having a beer' beer, but when its hot and you're hot from working, it is phenomenal. I can't wait to try some this summer while anchored out on a hot day
Yeah, this became the rage at my dock this year. We all had a big bottle on our boats. I'd always start with maybe 4:1 Deep Eddy:water over ice, but towards the end of the night, it would become Eddy, maybe an ounce of water, ice.....Deep Eddy's flavored vodka (lemon or cranberry) ...
trying higher end bourbons is something i have thought about....i am retiring next July and may take that opportunity to start tasting some of the high end stuff....This thread has been fascinating thus far, boating is perceived to be an expensive hobby for the well off, most of you posting here can buy whatever you want to drink without too much budget issue.
While some like a particular higher end drink, very few are into higher end tastings. I have easily 20 different bourbons that I choose by my flavor mood. We do taste tests with friends.
We also like to make perfect cocktails. For me it is an old fashioned or a Sazerac.
