Hi folks,

I am interested in learning more about the factors that influenced decisions to buy Sea Ray over other brands and have created a survey using SurveyMonkey.com to solicit individual feedback.

The survey accepts 100 responses and I will share my results with this forum.

If you would be so kind, please click on the following link to answer a quick 10 question survey. Your answers are anonymous, your IP address is not saved, and there is no registration.

http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/B86X3PT

I am seeking this information for the following reasons:
*Working on MBA, concentrations in marketing & small business
*[Slowly] working on Westlawn Yacht Design program, and looking to gain better understanding of express cruiser buyer preferences
*I currently own two Sea Rays, 320 & 175, and looking to understand why others bought Sea Ray over other brands.

Thanks in advance for your participation.

Cheers
Jeff

Hi everyone,

We have 22 survey responses already; thanks so much for the enthusiastic input!

I edited the gas vs. diesel question as requested.

Early results are attached as an unformatted text doc due to file size limitations. I'll be setting up a boat building and design blog called Sustainable Boat and will post more user friendly results and commentary.

I'll post updated results at 50 and then again at 100 or the highest number of responses after a few days, and write up a summary.

I'm also hoping to use these responses to help obtain an interview with someone from Sea Ray marketing and design. Topics that I would like to discuss with Sea Ray include:
*Factors that influence hull design
*How they balance style with functionality
*Where they see the market for new boats post recession

Thanks again for the interest and willingness to share your thoughts in the survey.

Let's get to 100 responses! My commitment back to the forum is to provide the results for all to benefit from.

Cheers
Jeff

Absolutely agree. I had only 10 questions and a limit of 100 responses to work with so decided to keep the questions fairly open ended so as to solicit as much input as possible.

My personal interest is with larger Sea Rays but since it was primarily a brand survey I thought it would apply to all models.

Thanks
Jeff
