We’ve had temps close to 70 the past few days and nothing but sun. I spent 12 hours on the boat last Saturday doing a thorough spring cleaning. Even managed to finish polishing and waxing everything above the rub rail. Still need to haul out in a few weeks to do the hull plus various maintenance items, but she’s looking pretty good. We took her to Bowen Island Sunday, and again out for a cruise yesterday. It was ice cream weather! Of course it’s still early and so some cold rain is headed our way this weekend. Still ..sure was nice. I’ve been waiting for weather like this for 6 months. Best time of year is right now ..it’s just so darn exciting! :)

Looking forward to hearing about your launches and first trips out this year!

Nice pics, and congrats on an early spring voyage.

My first voyage is going to be on Monday and it'll be a short one. I'm taking the boat to a marina that's just across the river and downstream a bit to get a new genset installed. The old one would run, then stop, then run, then...well you get the picture. After having two different companies work on it the decision was made to convert it to a boat anchor.

We head for AZ next Thursday (3/28) and all involved parties want to get it installed and running before then. Pics to follow.

Thanks Mike. Considering your luck last year, I'm sure you're chomping at the bit to get some good boating in this year. Best of luck with the new generator. Looking forward to pics.

Sure miss living on the coast I lived on hornby for a winter pretty planting season and Gabe for many years my eldest was born on Gabe in a converted yellow bus. Who knows my latest trials may see me back that way before it gets cold here again

It's been pretty nice (mid- to upper-70's) for the past week but this weekend was horrible. Winds steady at 22 with gusts to 30+ and temps in the 50's to 60's, then last night we had a freeze warning and had to move all my Admiral's outdoor potted plants into the garage.

It's supposed to be in the high 70's by the end of this week.

Wind! Winds this past weekend on the strait were sustained 40kts + with a gale warning. We spent the weekend on Vancouver Island and rode the ferry back in the middle of it ...spray from waves was hitting the upper deck on the 5 deck 500ft long Ferry, and man was it rockin'! People were getting visibly ill. Definitely NOT a weekend for boating around here either.
