Hello everyone, I just purchased a 89' Sundancer 268. It is my first non-ski boat and I am hoping to learn from all of you about the "in's & out's" of taking care of a BIG boat. I live in the NE and it will be mostly used on lakes and the Erie canal ways. Any tips or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Nice looking boat. That should be a perfect size for the waters you will be boating on. Have fun with it and, if you have not already done so, take a safe boating class in a classroom setting, not online.. The exchange of information among the people in the class is invaluable. They likely will be boating on the same waters you will and can offer a lot of information on where to go and what to see and also hazards to watch out for. Oh, and take your wife so the confidence level for both of you will be much higher as will your safety level.

Welcome Matt. Great looking boat. The 268 is a really nice boat with the right engine. What size engine does your have?
