IF anyone could shed some light on my situation I would really appreciate it. Im ending a big project of changing my oil pan on my '97 Mercruiser 350 w/Bravo III drive and I am just about done. Those of you who have done this yourself can greatly appreciate what a job this is. Upon turning the key for the first time I found that there was nothing. The starter wouldnt engage at all. At first I wasnt sure if I connected all the wires right but then when I tested all of the wires going to the starter none of them had power. Does anyone have any sugestions as to what may be the cause of this. One wire(Yellow and red) goes to the slave solinode. I have hit the circut breaker button several times. A second pair of wires( an orange going to the altenator, a red going to power I assume), and a third purple and yellow that I believe is going to the electric choke on the carb. for some reason. Any thoughts, please let me know.

Check your wires to make sure there are no fusable links in the harness. They should be marked with the amp load they will carry. If you have moved the wires around while replacing the pan you may have broken one as they can become corroded and brittle. Just a thought.

My stupidity. I had the two solinodes hooked up, the slave solinode connection but never hooked up the main positve lead, duh!!!!!. Its hard to make the starter work when yoiu dont have the positive lead connected. :smt119
