Bulb just pulls out. Easy LED replacement

 

Same fixtures on my 2000. Replaced every bulb with LEDs. Around $20 pn amazon.

 

Any suggestions on how to get these open to either replace bulb or entire unit... 2005 Sundancer... View attachment 83754

That lens pops out. There are tabs on the rounded sides that fit into the globe.

 

Yep... got the Lens out... was trying to take the plastic housing off.. but that doesn't seem to come off.. and was going to replace the whole unit... but can't get that off... New LED's are on the way...

Can I ask for a link to led bulbs for salon ceiling on amazon, they have just the two long prongs/pins

 

I bought these. I was looking for a warm white and as far as colour goes I am very happy. They are pretty well indistinguishable from an incandescent (I had both installed at once). They will fit the ceiling lights, head lights and the moveable ones at each end of the cabin. They are very tight in the "eyeball" lights due to length and diameter at the base. I trimmed the gel coating on them a bit at the base and they did work.

I bought the natural light one... and worked and was bright...
I have now ordered the cool... but have not put them in yet...

Much better without the Draw or the HEAT!!...

I'm looking for replacements for the dual Voltage salon ceiling lights, any ideas?

 

Same bulb as in my post above for the 12v side. Not sure about the 120v bulb in that fixture.

 

Am I buying into a bunch of BS or does anyone think these are worth approx 3x the amazon bulk price..

They claim they are more expensive because they have built in:

• Polymeric PTC re-settable thermal foldback fuse - protects the LEDs from over-temperature by reducing the current
• Transient Voltage Suppressor (TVS) - Protects the LED from momentary high-voltage events in load dump situations common on boats

On one hand I am thinking... OK, that sounds good and makes sense.
On the other, I am thinking... The cheap ones can blow 3 times before I am at same cost.

Don't know about the difference, but I do know what my time is worth.

 

Quality sir. Don’t go cheap. Could it work, sure. Will it last? Was the extra time and a few bucks worth it?
